Need coil advice for my incoming SC Aromamizer Supreme v3

Unless you’re driving one of these of course, then feel free to carry on!

Love the little bag on the front. Is that where you carry your mods?

A hustler lol. even the position of the coils to be in relation to the airflow rather than centre damn perfect, maybe we should start asking @Illogik for advice! Seriously @Illogik that looks spot on to me mate and they do look a nice set of coils! :sunglasses:

Are Man bags still a thing? I don’t mind wearing a deep shade of Pink but a Man Bag was a step too far! :man_shrugging:

Why thank you Sir.

They are of course pore-made coils. I did however put them on a 3mm coil jig thingy and did an extra half wrap on each side to make them 5 wrap instead of 4 so they were wider to fit better on the titan deck.

I’m just a bit of a perfectionist and I won’t leave something alone until it’s perfect! Must have taken me a good 30 mins to get those coils straight!

Man bags are definitely a no-go for me. They are almost as bad as the skinny ass trousers blokes seem to be wearing everywhere these days that look like women’s leggings or something. :man_shrugging:

A quick example from Nike.com
Clearly those are men’s trousers!

Not for me and never would spend money on brands like Nike! Got criticised by a dude saying me buying £10 trainers (sneakers for our American friends) was false economy because his £160 Reeboks would last 5 times longer, my math says I save £110 even if that is the case.

That just not true though what your mate said. I’ve had £140 air max last 3 months then they start falling apart. Of course like a true idiot I still buy air max because they are pretty much the only trainers I like. I just look after then very carefully now and I have pairs that I’ve had for 2+ years and still look like new.

That’s a pretty good primer for series vs. parallel. Series ADDS, parallel REDUCES. Like you said, if you had (2) 1 ohm resistors for example:

(2) 1 ohm resistors in series = 2 ohms total resistance
(2) 1 ohm resistors in parallel = 0.5 ohms total resistance.

Different values of resistors get slightly trickier, and this is just a CRUDE example, as most times, when coils heat (and cool) their resistance CHANGES, hehe, so let’s keep this light, and fluffy.

There’s no real advantage or disadvantage OTHER THAN to say, you NET TOTAL resistance. If you’re trying to achieve a particular final load, having the ability to manipulate that by using series and parallel is nice.

I personally never worry about ohm loads, and I seldom mech, which is where IMO, it’s MOST important, and the net total resistance is the ONLY thing (except physics, and explosions) that limit your current flow !!!

Let’s just say, that having the ABILITY to push series or parallel, just gives you some choices.

@Timwis, @Illogik THAT ^^^^^ is actually a FAR BIGGER deal than most people realize. Especially for flavor. I’ve shifted coils in the same setup from top/side, to side/bottom, or full bottom, and had monumental flavor changes, moving to the GOOD, while approaching bottom airflow. I’ve actually had FAR more noticeable changes to flavor directing airflow to the coils, than I ever did, with coil metal typing.

Makes sense. I was kinda puzzled as to why such a feature would even be needed on a tank but you nailed it there. Mech mods. I doubt I’ll ever try a mech. I’m more than happy with what I have now

Well, hehe, see that’s the THING. Not needed. May not even make a difference for you. Mechs are/were/are dangerous, as they are FULL BORE, unless you hold them back.

Meaning, a mech, will attempt to push MAX CURRENT all day long, until something blows up. Batteries clearly, can only push soo much current, and we all know what happens if you push them too hard, so the net total resistance is KEY in surviving mech usage. On most modern protected devices, protection will kick in, so, the series / parallel is just a cool novelty, IMO.

Indeed. Just not worth the risk. Is there some huge benefit to using a mech and risking death?

Oh, and let’s NOT forget the EYE CANDY you can construct having all the different coils in there too.

Ehhh, I started out vaping afraid of them, bought a couple, and as long as you’re not a dumb dumb (but yes, accidents happen TOO, to smart people also), I never got the full allure of them. I mean, SURE, they can hit like a freight train while the batt/batts are fresh, but as the batts start to deplete, so did my experience, so I went back to protected mods.

I think some people like the raw, unbridled power of them, maybe some of the, “Yeah, you MIGHT just blow your face off”, and also the minimalist design, very limited parts to fail, smaller size, etc.

Hmm, none of those thing would be enough to tempt me. I’m wary a bit even now doing new builds on these new tanks I’ve got with never having used anything other than commercial coils for the Voopoo Drag S and TFV16. I have no idea if it’s possible to blow up my titan tank by putting too much watts through the coils or whatever.
