I have a 250 ml bottle of 100mg/ml of Nic. Beside that it says 10%. WTF does that mean? I want to make a recipe at 6% nic. I’m guessing this’ll ONLY make a juice at 10% nic? That doesn’t make sense to me.
@PaulyWalnuts share a pic of the label with me. Delosi has multiple strengths, which did you order ?
You’ve got 100mg NIC @PaulyWalnuts.
Dude, for the second time
YOU personally can’t buy 100% nic easily. 100mg/ml is 10% and commom in the USA. So when you say 6% that 60 mg/ml, and any normal person would think super high nic in a tiny pod and assume salts.
Your 6% might be the % in a 100ml bottle for 6mg/ml
My bad. 81 years old, early stages of dementia. 'Ya gotta dumb it down to something a 3rd grader can understand.
I picked up an RDA. Thunderhead blaze solo, so all I have to do is re-wick rather than buying and tossing out the pods. What’s the proper term for the part of the pod the juice goes into?
So, the calc says, mg/ml, I enter 100 because that’s what the bottle says. Then I tell it I want 6 % nic. What % nic I really getting? I currently smoke aroud 10 swisher sweets a day. Google says that 1 cigar is = to 10 stinky’s.
I have a Smok mag-18. Using that to test is a mess and wasteful. I bought the pods as an alternative, thinking I’d save money, but at VG/PG of 50/50 I think it’s probably the high PG that’s killing my lungs. Hence the RDA.
Again, please forgive my inability to track these days. I used to own a cyber security firm. Seeing if we could hack into businesses. Wasn’t always this slow on the uptake.
NO, you tell it what you want in mg/ml (bottom left value) and the calculator says it’s 6% (top right hand value) of the mix. If you had 50mg/ml nic instead, that top right hand corner would show 12%. Capiche.
Edit: Answering questions.
I think you wanted 6mg/ml nic. A respectable amount for an RDA.
That would be the pod. And inside is a coil. Some you throw out both pod and coil, others you only throw out the replaceable coil.
No idea. I just get a smaller cloud, PG is the flavor carrier. Some are more sensitive to PG than others.
IIRC it was JUUL who came up with nicotine salts and using %'s for nic content, and marketing their 5% nic by weight was much more palatable than putting 59mg/ml on the pod box.
So it’s doing my thinking for me, and I’m golden.
I edited and added to the above ![]()
IIRC. If I Recall Correctly? Did I just figure something out?!!!
I have CRS.
I’m getting closer. Only been working on DIY since early February.
It can be confusing at first! The “10%” just refers to the nicotine being in a 10% solution, which matches the 100mg/mL you mentioned (since 100mg is 10% of 1mL). You can use it to make 6mg juice, just plug the numbers into a calculator and you’re set.
Welcome aboard, mate! There’s a place to introduce yourself. Please do so.
And thanks!
Might help if they taught the metric system when I was a kid. I understand fractions of an ounce!
2 ounces vodka for a bloody mary, 1/4 ounce of weed for $5.00.

Hi mate try to keep in mind a pod kit and RDA are 2 complete different tanks,
Ideally if your after higher nic juice at 50/50 VG Pg or higher Pg for pod kids I’d recommend getting a MTL (mouth to lung) RDA small gauge wire like 26 or 28 at 2.5mm inner diameter coil,
My advice rather than ripping 5%[50mg] try bringing you nic levels down considerably
If your after cloud chasing liquid the ideally you want around 70/30 mark this the be more ideal for your RDA as it’s a direct lung RDA using 3mm inner diameter coils
My advice is aim for no more than 0.6% nic (6mg) although most direct lung user will only use 3mg
Key tips:
Flavour concentrate adds towards your PG ratio,
Nicotine count towards final Pg VG ratio too
Premixed Flavour recipe concentrate (one-shot also known as ) generally recommended usage of 15-20% but always double check online see what others use, maybe make 10ml testers before dedicating to bulk batch
Liquids recommend a steep time which is like breathing time.(Best way to do this is fill your bottle put your lid on, leave it loose in a cool dark dry place)
Usually about a week or so.
Fruit flavours need about a week
Some drinks flavours are usually about the same
Desserts and custard s can take weeks anywhere up to 12
Tobacco flavours usually 3 to 4 weeks
High power devices you want to aim for 70/30 VG Pg . The reason behind this is because sub ohm tanks need more power and thicker liquid
Here is a rough example I might do if I was making a juice for a pod kit
This is my latest with the help of @OldGoat
| Nicotine: | 0.40 | 0.46 | 2.00 |
|---|---|---|---|
| PG: | 4.10 | 4.25 | 20.50 |
| VG: | 13.80 | 17.40 | 69.00 |
| Total Base: | 18.30 | 22.11 | 91.50 |
| Butterscotch - The Flavor Apprentice | 0.40 | 0.40 | 2.00 |
| Caramel (Original) - The Flavor Apprentice | 0.30 | 0.30 | 1.50 |
| Custard Cream - Capella | 0.30 | 0.30 | 1.50 |
| Super Sweet - Capella | 0.10 | 0.10 | 0.50 |
| Vanilla Bean Ice Cream - The Flavor Apprentice | 0.60 | 0.60 | 3.00 |
| Total Flavour: | 1.70 | 1.70 | 8.50 |
| Total: | 20.00 | 23.81 | 100.00 |
I actually made 3 bottles of 3 flavors each. 9 bottles total.
Example: The recipe above was built at 2% Nic (.46mg) 70/30, then again at 1.25 % Nic, then at 3% Nic.
Another recipe the same way, then a 3rd one at 50/50 vg/pg for a pod.
I’m giving them 14 days to steep.
THANKS, y’all!
Oh yeah! Ever get that feeling of complete stupidity wash over 'ya? Like when you say DUH!!!
Been having a hard time weighing out the Nic. Less than .5 mg? I’d get to .3 mg, then .6! Cuss, cuss, swear, swear and toss the bottle. Did that yesterday and was about to through another bottle in the trash, when I got that feeling, and I decided to simply increase the “Amount to make”.
Dumb Ass!
I must admit I prefer syringe method
Tried several syringes. Either too narrow to “suck it up”, or so big it just squirts. I’m pretty happy with what I have now that I located some missing brain cells. MUCH easier to add a little more base.
If you buy 14g needles are helpful , you could also buy measure bottles and beaker as a guide too, this more handy if your bulk making
