Australia bans vaping

I guess the sad GOOD news is, WE are ahead of that curve, not that it helps the “others”.

Same here @marsh8. It may be Australia today, but who knows what’s (or where’s) next. I"m sure Simon is stocked up, BUT, that doesn’t affect the larger issue, or the masses.

I wonder how the black market will react.

You can get a 3 month prescription for liquid nic after that you have to revisit the dr and get another one - before these rules you could import nic with a prescription from overseas (as long as it matched what you were prescribed and the script was with the import) then you were fine.

After these rules that is gone the only nic you will be able to get is what is stocked in an Au pharmacy there is only one and they have 1 device (pod system) 3 different flavours (mint, tobacco, or cherry all of which are awful) . All vape products that are not bound for a pharmacy will be banned inc coils, juice, mods, and atomisers.

@SessionDrummer ya many hobbyist vapers are stocked with nic and gear but the masses are not and the inability to buy consumables is going to kill the once legal vape industry totally - all the people that have stuck to the law are going to be out of business all the people that have been selling nic filled devices on the black market will now most likely make tons of $ because we all know what prohibition does

They talked about lowering the nicotine content, I can’t find where I read it but my understanding they are available in 20mg and 60mg.
This is the mob I think…for the one and only. Someone is going to make a mint!

For those of us who are still allowed to buy vape products, juice etc, illegal sales are happening here too, and it is increasing.
Illegal sales are the most important reason why Australia got a permanent vape ban.

We can sit and think, this doesn’t happen here, but when impotent governments lose control, we can end up like Australia.

We vapors must wake up and do our job to get rid of illegal sales.
There is no shame reporting to the police.

So we should start reporting to the police fellow forum members?

Don’t think there is a single forum I have been on where some members don’t sell e-liquid whether it’s to top up their income or just occasionally and if they are not a registered business, that e-liquid been approved by for example if in Europe the TPD and they don’t declare the sales for income tax (or any other tax payable in the particular country) purposes then they are also selling illegal e-liquid, lol!

Easy enough to explain that away, Tim.
Ex: Hey Mr. Tax Man, this person cleans my house, so I ‘give’ him eliquid in return.

Lol, Then the poor sod will be hauled in by the Tax Man and interrogated about the cleaning business they don’t have.

What is sold on forums, tax declared or not, that is not the problem.
There are sales at the petrol station, around the corners of the block, to minors, often with mislabeled nic content, etc.

Your guys in the UK have had somewhat similar problems to Australia, don’t be naive to take it for granted that the authorities are cracking down on illegal sales. Be on the ball, send input to the authorities that you expect them to crack down on illegal sales and especially to minors.
It is much easier to get the community on board when the vape community has done its part.

Wouldn’t know about backstreets in larger towns and cities and large markets but petrol stations sell legit stuff and where I live the problem isn’t illegal e-liquid but illegal sales of legit e-liquid, places openly selling disposables to minors!

Why don’t you guys just start selling Flavoured Lube and mark it “Not for human Consumption”?

Would it be advisable to buy mods from Australia now to help them get rid of their stock?

Call out to all Aussies but not exclusively Aussies. Everyone needs to get onboard it may just be happening here in Au but it can happen where you are unless those that seek to control us see an epic failure.

Based on the fact that these politicians’ policy decision’s make no sense, it could be construed that cigarettes provide a better(long term) means of population thinning, than the more safe vaping alternative. They know damn well that they should be listening to both side’s of the argument, but choose not to!
