What's made you feel old today?

Spinal Stenosis. I used to be 3’28", now, I’m, 3’26". MRI today. No shit, my spine is compressing! That happens when you’re 80 fucking years old! Symptoms. Pain. Cure. Stop moving, OR physical therapy. Therapy made shit worse!

Or, surgery. Doc says, “You don’t want surgery.” The F I don’t! What’s the worst that could happen? I could get back to building model wooden ships? I could still hurt? The ONLY time I feel good is when I’m sitting in this here chair. Harassing y’all with shit you don’t care about.

Pauly, I have back issues too and I’ve gotten tremendous relief from an inversion table. They sell relatively inexpensive ones at Big 5. Natural spine decompression - hang upside down and the spine stretches out. I couldn’t live without mine, and my doctor said at one point that he’d seen a lot of patients saying positive things about them. I highly recommend.

Wow, cool, thanks.

I wonder if our insurance would cover that.

Off to Big 5, after I click “Reply”.

Well, I just searched Big 5 and they don’t know what an inversion table is. Lots of camping tables… Maybe I can find if it if you tell me what make and model is.

From my research they’re great!

Google them.

I did. Google led me to this one. Lots of good reviews, but the price seems too good to be true, when others are $500 +.

Table

I can get it cheaper if I get it tomorrow, or I can wait until Friday for $25 more.

What made me feel old today?

YouTube launched in February 2005. That’s nearly 20 years ago.

The first video? “Me at the Zoo”—just 19 seconds of a guy casually talking about elephants. That same clip now has over 340 million views. And back then, we thought 240p was just fine.

Now it’s 2025, YouTube has 2.5 billion users, and kids are out here watching 8K ultra-HD videos on their phones while I’m still trying to figure out where the last two decades went.

Feels like just yesterday I was watching Numa Numa guy and laughing at Charlie Bit My Finger—now I’m over here realizing those kids are probably paying taxes by now.

Somebody pass me my reading glasses and a strong drink. I wasn’t ready for this. :sob:

Yeah, but when do you go to bed? How often does this happen?

One of the meds they have me on sends me to bed, no later than 2200 and I don’t wake up until 1030, or 1100.

Four decades ago, I was 40. I remember… Ummm. Shit! Yesterday was April fools. I missed it. 2nd favorite day of the year.
