I think a watch is not only for telling the time, it’s also part of a finishing accessory to how one dresses wether it be casual or formal attire.

Agreed. I’m allergic to cheap metal and would need a gold one. No way I’m going to spend a wad of cash just to be able to see what time it is.
Years ago I saw a young guy with a flash pimp car, surrounded by a group of adoring youths.
He was showing them his watch, claiming that a watch really made a man. I thought that was really sad.
The moment you lose that thing you will no longer be a man.

Your my hero Luke. The last time I had to replace my phone I didn’t want a new one. Though I had to and I just wanted something simple, what I got was a 1 hr verbal spanking about how I need to live in the present. And a new $600 iPhone. Man I miss the days before cellphones.
