What do you HATE in 2026!

Sigh of relief, now the fire is still not 100% under control and is still burning in places, but it has been downgraded to a lower threat level for everyone on the map. The darkened area is what actually burned.

For reference, the shoreline of Lake Eildon is 515 km (320 miles) the distance from Seymour to Euroa is 55km (35mile). Loads of houses and farms were lost, but thankfully only 1 life (I guess his family wouldn’t think that so I will say sadly one life was lost)

Good Lord, Simon…outta the fire, and into the frying pan.

Yeah, Simon and his mates need a break down there.

It often hits 115 F = 41.1/ here in central California but only for a week or so, then a delta breeze comes in and knocks it down to the mid 90’s. 32.2c. 15% humidity makes it very tolerable.

I know I’ll hate it in the Summer, but I’d LOVE some of those temps right now. Everything is STILL iced up.

You, and me both, SD. Have you seen the weather map in FL? 20°F. last night, and again tonight. 40’s for high’s! I’ve heard stories of pipes freezing, and power co. is warning to reduce usage early am, to avoid outages. Been 15yrs. since it’s gotten this cold here.

I didn’t know it got that cold in Fl! I thought it was cold here at 65!

I fired him. Think I did the right thing? I told him to reuse as much of the wood as he could to save money. But PINE? It rains here in the winter…

Hell yeah! I mean, it looks like you’d hired ME to do the job! :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: Me and carpentry don’t get along all that well.
At least he used those metal bracket thingy’s.

After looking at it Brian, that was the HIGH point of the job LOL.

Same! I built the original some 20 + years ago, but it developed a bit of a list. The cover was made of fiberglass that another so-called “Handy-Man” installed in the spring. Winter came around and we had to use an umbrella to get from the house to the detached garage.

The man that messed this job up is actually licensed! Mine was WAY better, and I didn’t use brackets for the hand rails. Just toed the screws in.

We’re going to sell this place. People see that and they’ll want US to pay them to take it off our hands.
