Are you reading the coil resistance by pressing and holding the mode selection button until the ohms appear on the screen?

I think the original board is better. It reads lower resistance than the Yihi which bottoms out at 0.1. The menu is easier to navigate and easier to shut off. I have dual coil SS builds on several RDAs. They read fine on the original Topside Dual but are too low for the Carbon.

I don’t see any better performance in TC than the old board or compared to several $40 budget mods. Probably the last device with a Yihi chip I will ever buy unless they come up with something new and revolutionary. I think the Gene chip outperforms the Yihi, and of course I really wish they had used a DNA chip.

But the mod… oh when you hold it in your hand… its damn sexy!

Huh? have they hobbled the yihi - my SX will fire a .05 - what chip revision is it maybe there is a firmware update.

And you do have to hold centre button before u use tc as @mjag mentioned

The best board Yihi ever made was the 550J, there lower end boards are hit or miss. A friend had his Vsticking mod just stop working one day, he says he hardly used it and it never hit the floor.

I hope they rerelease the Carbon with the original board and a lower price point. A single 21700 Carbon version would be cool too, same board just added sexiness

I agree, they should have used a DNA250C in there, then I would have gladly paid full price.

I just got a Vboy a couple of weeks ago, volcano ran out of the modefined draco they blew out for 15 or 20 bucks, got 1, decent mod but ordered 2. Volcano called me.and said can we send you a Vboy instead…I was like…yes yes yes, always wanted one and at that price they didn’t have to ask twice

I am surprised the Yihi chip in the Carbon won’t fire under .1 ohms, never had a problem like that with Yihi chips in the past

Just compared the old and new with exact same settings and same RDA. Old is better. Stronger hit at same wattage. Same with TC, Yihi board is just weak or the old model is overpowered. Also the Yihi is reading 50% battery life and the battery meters are jumping up and down and weaker still. Ugh. Maybe I just got a crap board.

Hope there is a firmware update to fix it.

Doesn’t say anywhere on the user manual or in the menu what the chip is or revision. I went through all of it. TVC said in the video that the chip was made just for the carbon.

Usually with yihi if you hold the fire button while you close the battery door it will display the chip set and the software v

Yeah, I appreciate the info, I never would have thought to hold the fire button while shutting the battery door lol. I love learning new things. Thanks @woftam

Finally was able to get a Hellvape Passage RDA. It has air inlets near the top of the barrel and the air travels down and enters the chamber below through honeycomb holes. Looks to be really hard to overflow, hopefully the flavor is good.

I have heard really good things about that RDA. Checked it out at the local vape shop but they wanted $40. Let me know how it is

I knew there was a reason they weren’t “bragging” about which chip was in it… Which made me leary from the word go.

I’m betting it’s just inferior. But for your sake, would love to be proved wrong (once they release a firmware update).

Now, I haven’t owned a recent yihi, but from most of what I’ve read, I’m strongly inclined to agree with @mjag. I know I wouldn’t purchase a newer YiHi chipped device unless it was a 500 series or higher.

It really surprises me that they’ve been trying to get a premium for their crap chips, when they seem to be no better than the baseline (as opposed to the “budget”) chips of other manufacturers. Really seems to tarnish the brand. Surprising for a company with an until ‘recently’ long history of quality and performance. And that’s a shame.

It is a shame the button config is different than all the other yihi or you could pull a board from a donor mod (or buy a board)

Nice!

A friend of mine got 1, his first mesh rebuildable and he loves it, now he wants more mesh.

Let us know how it goes :+1:
