SFT of Almond, Custard and Chocolate as seen on ELR:
Okay, not THAT bad, but holy crap! This is the third one I tried.
Smok Mag - 18, TFV 18 triple coil, 30 watts, AF almost closed. Took a TINY MTL.
Whisky Tango Foxtrot?

So what’s going on Pauly? Dry hit? Bad mix?
Hell if I know. What’s a dry hit? Sounds about right. Bad mix? Dunno if you can see my recipe on ELR… If not it’s easy enough to describe.
Last year, I made a BUNCH of DIY’s with NO NIC and they were awesome. Loved me some plain old brown sugar. Just… No NIC. Need NIC and need to wean myself off. Can’t go cold turkey after 60 plus years of Camel non filters and Cigars.
Can you post a photo of your bottle of nic, here, with the labeling, and a screenshot of an actual recipe/flavor with the numbers plugged in for mixing. If everything is good until you add the nic, then maybe the nic is bad, or you’re using too much of it. If you’re sure the nic is good, and you’ve entered all your numbers correctly, you could try mixing something up with just 6mg/ml, or even 3mg/ml of nic. I mixed my first few batches(yrs. ago) at 12mg/ml, using information similar to what you’ve read, but it was way to high.
Hi Pauly,
It’s hard to analyze a problem on such little data, but I just wanted to throw out a couple of thoughts:
9mg Nic with that combo = harsh asf
I suggest mixing at 3mg
I dripped some juice onto the cotton, filled it and it sat for a good 15+ minutes, yes.
Bah! Cocaine killed all my nose hair decades ago.
@Grubby
What’s the shelf life on PG/VG and flavorings. Mine are all pretty much 1 year old. I have something like 30 bottles!
Where do you find the median? It occurs to me that it’s not an sft! REALLY have to keep better notes. I “THINK” that was a NIC test.
I’ll toss all these and try again. Lower flavor percents and 3% NIC.
When you log in at ELR at the top of the page is a button called “Resources.” When you hit the button, there is an option called “Flavor List.” When you select that, your taken to their flavor database where you can search any flavor. When you pull up a flavor, you’ll find data, review notes, and recipes using that flavor. Similar data exists here on VC and on All The Flavors (ATF) by logging in and looking at the flavor database. Good Luck Pauly.
That’s your best bet.
I’ve got PG/VG that’s a couple yrs. old, and some of my flavorings are +/- 5yrs. old. I worried about this early on, but they seem to keep quite well…cool and dark storage.
@Grubby made some pretty cool upgrades here, on the VC Calculator. In addition to what @CaptainKirk said, when you enter a flavor into a recipe, the avg. usage rate appears directly above it.
