Orange Creamsicle - Community Collaboration

Alright @SthrnMixer, despite not homogenizing, 3, WAS indeed to orange heavy. Had thought the citrus would fade, and the creams would advance, but it was static. 4 is moving in the right direction. The orange portion is feeling good, but will boost the creams in 5.

Get it? How low, can you go?

I really believe the closest recipe will have orange at a very low usage.

Let me know how that turns out @SthrnMixer . Orange creamsicle has been an Achilles Heal of mine. it was what I wanted to make first, but I have never vaped one I like. with or without ws 23. :crossed_fingers:

You can count on me NOT to use that. I’ve really tried hard to like cooling agents. I just can’t tolerate them more than a puff or three, then I’m good for weeks. Only exception ever has been a cucumber/mint vape but even with that, one day vaping it would cure me for a while.

Ideas floating around my head are…

Vienna Cream
Fresh Cream
Wee bit of LB Vanilla Ice Cream - say around 2%
The mandarin
Vanilla

I’ll try to get to it soon. But I think the key to success with this one will be to keep the orange slight in use, and let the cream be the star of the show. We’ll see.

Yeps you got lucky… I had one bottle of flavoring… think it was a citrus too… left the rubber cap on… and apparently it had an appearance of ā€œgrowing rubberā€ literally looked like liquid back floaters, and they could ā€œjiggleā€ in the flavoring… I left it on my window sill for about a month, till it almost coated the insides.

This is one reason PET does hold the aroma molecules in place, however… it is not as porous as hdpe.
It still is not the end all, PP is the best. Between PP and PET… you have a shelf life of 6mo to 2-3 yrs, depending on how the flavoring is kept.

Is there a orange candy type flavor out there? Or orange Sunkist soda type flavor should work.

I think that would be damned close.

@deerslayer’s suggestion of Orange Sunkist soda type flavor is interesting. the popsicle does not have any carbonation type flavor, but ? Everyone has had such great ideas and options. Im sitting like a Deer in headlights. @SthrnMixer was mentioning closeness in mix#4 . I mixed up @SmokyBlue’s citrus soda (Nice mix!) and am waiting on the steep. This project has turned out more challenging than I thought. with this many great minds-we gonna get this!! Thanks all
now, @SessionDrummer- that SteamCrave Advanced kit… tell me about the mesh :innocent:

The only Coolant I’ve used is Koolada TPA, up to 0.8% in mixes for other ppl, for my own use I use it very low at 1 drop per 15ml in fruit / citrus mixes and it works well for me, not so much as a coolant but just to make the fruits pop.

One on One has Orange Square Candy, they sent me a free sample, I haven’t solo tested it, but I used it in a recipe at low% and it was horrid

I’ve had the sherbet covered ice cream/ice milk but also…and it’s been a LOOOOONNNGGG time now, one that had that ice cream center, but the outer layer was more like orange ice, as in a frozen popsicle. Not creamy at all. The idea of Sunkist reminded me of that, and to the best of my recollection, that was exactly the flavor. The sherbet covered one (the one I’m focusing on here) is just so much softer a flavor. That’s why I’m suggesting a really low usage of orange to make this right. At the same time, if there is a Sunkist flavor out there, it may be perfect. The amount of flavor used for this may be of vastly greater importance than the flavor itself.

is what I am sitting on. with BCV 12 minutes up the road, if I need…

I don’t have most of these flavors. So doing what I can with what I have to work with.

Version 3 below I eliminated CAP Sweet Tangerine completely, going only with INW Shisha Orange. Made a 60ml batch per the notes, and this ended up being just 4 drops of the orange flavor for 60ml. Now let me tell you that the flavor is very, very close, but still a little too orange-forward at this point. I’m going to tap the brakes for a few days on this project and see how that orange plays out. If it weakens by a decent margin then I may be done for my own personal tastes. Otherwise, next batch will be reduced to 1 drop/60ml and work up from there. Getting closer!!
