HiYa OG,
I am by no means an expert on MTL (but @Timwis might have some things to say), but last year I acquired a Kayfun X clone, an Ambition Mods Bi2hop, and an Oxva Arbiter Solo (which I reviewed). Each one of these has a different coil, but all ohmed out at 0.6 Ohms or higher, and I vape them all at 14-18 Watts, usually on DNA replay mode. You can see my Arbiter review here:
Oxva Arbiter Solo Review - Vaping Community
I recall my first experience was with the Arbiter Solo, and I was extremely impressed with the flavor. I tried a 60/40 VG/PG mix to help wicking, but initially had a small flooding problem. I added a little more VG to the mix, solved the flooding, and thereafter made my usual DL mix favorites exactly the same at my usual 70/30 VG/PG ratios. I’ve had excellent flavor results, but I’ve noticed one small thing. In the past Wayne Walker of DIYorDie has spoken on the subject of what he calls the flavor stage. Roughly quoting, some devices tend to “flatten” or “compress” the flavor stage. I actually found the video where he referenced this at about 6 minutes into the video:
I’ve made no changes to my mixes, but I’ve noticed this one small effect, though it’s not a huge difference to me. Perhaps you are sensing this, but regarding mixing, I’ve made no changes, and I get great flavor. I hope this helps a bit OG - good luck!
