Let’s Build a Beginner Recipe Thread – What’s Your Easiest, Most Reliable Mix?

Hey VC herd,

We’ve got a lot of new faces stepping into the DIY game lately, and I thought it’d be great to put together a thread just for them — something simple, helpful, and full of solid starting points.

What I’m asking:
Drop your easiest, most beginner-friendly recipe that still slaps.
Fruit, dessert, tobacco — doesn’t matter. As long as it’s:

Easy to mix
Uses accessible concentrates
It tastes great without a ton of steeping

Important: Only share what you’re comfortable putting out there — no pressure to reveal your top-secret stash or guarded bangers. Let’s keep this about supporting the next wave of mixers.

Whether it’s the first mix that made you proud or the one you always recommend to rookies, toss it in below. Let’s build something the herd can point to when someone says, “Where do I start?”

Old Goat out.

Super simple and tasty - I don’t use supersweet at al,l but you can add it if you need to. The stevia in the Cap Pear makes it sweet enough for me.

Apple Sour (FINAL)

Flavours%
Fuji Apple - Flavour Art3.00
Natural Malic Acid (300mg/mL) - Stone1.00
Pear With Stevia - Capella1.50

Flavor total: 5.5%

My favorite first mixes were
FW blood orange 3%
FA passionfruit 1%
2 drops of preferred sweetener
Nice and bright; can be a snv but better around 3 days

WF boysenberry raspberry 3%
FW cheesecake 2-3%
1- 2 drops of preferred sweetener

Pair any 3 lemons + and preferred sweetener = lemonade

I’ll let you know Thursday when steeping should be complete.

Guess I didn’t read that well enough.

Mine are all dessert candy’s requiring 2 weeks steep time. Or more.

I just realized. I should make my handle WTF? So, am I right in my analyses of your handle? @whthek ?

And my name is Brian, too. MAJOR coincidence, right? How many of us could there be?

Lemme guess, you were born between 1968 to 1979. Me?

It’s “what the heck” all crammed into 6 letters. ‘‘wht’, ‘the’, ‘hek’, I only had room for 6 characters on my motorcycle license plate, Bri. And, it’s good to see that you spell your name correctly, with an ‘i’ :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:
Oh, and my last name…Heck. yupp. Before you start, I’ve heard em’ all @PaulyWalnuts :slightly_smiling_face:

You’ve heard them all? Try being Brian Adams!

Do you cut like a knife?

Yeah, every time I hear that.

Can you sing me a song?

I only sing in the shower. You’re welcome to join me…

Oh, heck, You know what I mean.

I’ll see if I can message you with my favorite. Some might find it a bit over the top.
