Let’s Build a Beginner Recipe Thread – What’s Your Easiest, Most Reliable Mix?

Hey VC herd,

We’ve got a lot of new faces stepping into the DIY game lately, and I thought it’d be great to put together a thread just for them — something simple, helpful, and full of solid starting points.

What I’m asking:
Drop your easiest, most beginner-friendly recipe that still slaps.
Fruit, dessert, tobacco — doesn’t matter. As long as it’s:

Easy to mix
Uses accessible concentrates
It tastes great without a ton of steeping

Important: Only share what you’re comfortable putting out there — no pressure to reveal your top-secret stash or guarded bangers. Let’s keep this about supporting the next wave of mixers.

Whether it’s the first mix that made you proud or the one you always recommend to rookies, toss it in below. Let’s build something the herd can point to when someone says, “Where do I start?”

Old Goat out.

Here’s one that @Robin came up with. Great two flavor recipe …

Super simple and tasty - I don’t use supersweet at al,l but you can add it if you need to. The stevia in the Cap Pear makes it sweet enough for me.

Apple Sour (FINAL)

Flavours%
Fuji Apple - Flavour Art3.00
Natural Malic Acid (300mg/mL) - Stone1.00
Pear With Stevia - Capella1.50

Flavor total: 5.5%

My favorite first mixes were
FW blood orange 3%
FA passionfruit 1%
2 drops of preferred sweetener
Nice and bright; can be a snv but better around 3 days

WF boysenberry raspberry 3%
FW cheesecake 2-3%
1- 2 drops of preferred sweetener

Pair any 3 lemons + and preferred sweetener = lemonade

I’ll let you know Thursday when steeping should be complete.

Guess I didn’t read that well enough.

Mine are all dessert candy’s requiring 2 weeks steep time. Or more.

I just realized. I should make my handle WTF? So, am I right in my analyses of your handle? @whthek ?

And my name is Brian, too. MAJOR coincidence, right? How many of us could there be?

Lemme guess, you were born between 1968 to 1979. Me?

It’s “what the heck” all crammed into 6 letters. ‘‘wht’, ‘the’, ‘hek’, I only had room for 6 characters on my motorcycle license plate, Bri. And, it’s good to see that you spell your name correctly, with an ‘i’ :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:
Oh, and my last name…Heck. yupp. Before you start, I’ve heard em’ all @PaulyWalnuts :slightly_smiling_face:

You’ve heard them all? Try being Brian Adams!

Do you cut like a knife?

Yeah, every time I hear that.

Can you sing me a song?

I only sing in the shower. You’re welcome to join me…

Oh, heck, You know what I mean.

I’ll see if I can message you with my favorite. Some might find it a bit over the top.

This is my contribution.
An easy mix with only 3 main ingredients and an absolute winner. It even works in pods.

Right. Here is my beginners guide to DIY.

I would love to hear what you veterans have to say.

Hey, I just checked out this link. (Nice site!) Since the Hellvape Hellbeast is not longer available, whataya suggest?

I bought a few pods since it’s easier to toss out all my bad juices compared to filling my mod enough to cover the wick, take a puff, puke, empty it, clean it, new coil…

I’ve read about RDA’s and thought… Who wants to drip all day? What kinda moron? Now I think I’m a wanna be moron! That’s a pretty smart idea! I knew you had some serious balls, but your brain must fill those horns as well.

You do those graphics?

Ah Pauly, you glorious misfit — appreciate you digging through the site!

Yeah, the Hellbeast is extinct now, and I’d love to point you to a worthy successor… but here’s the rub: the only new RDA I’ve got hands-on with is the Tauren, and she’s a hefty beast. Great on a big mod like the Hammer of God, but probably a bit much for day-to-day use.

I have heard good things about the new Blaze RDA — smooth airflow, great flavour, not too tricky to build on — but mine’s still stuck somewhere between China and my doorstep, so I can’t give it the Old Goat stamp just yet.

As for dripping? Welcome to the cult. I used to think it was for masochists, too — then I realized it’s the cleanest, quickest way to test your mixes. No tank cleaning, no coil-swapping, just full flavour and full consequences, one drop at a time.

And no, I’m not some wizard with Photoshop — most of the site graphics are AI-generated. I feed it the madness in my head and out comes something that usually works. Budget’s tight, and I’m running this whole circus solo. So feel free to drop a tip or 10 and help me keep the lights on.

You being in the States, I won’t offer to send coils — shipping costs more than the wire. But if you ever start mixing your own juice and need a crash course, I’ve got a blog or three for that.

Stay twisted, brother.

Read them. Or some.

Was looking for a way to do just that. Must be right in front of my face, but I’m still learning my way around the site. Took me a while to figure out that WhatsApp.

How about on the Smok Mag-18? Won’t be using it for everyday use, but for testing my next batch of juice that’ll suck.

Actually, I got this: Blaze Solo RDA | Design By Mike Vapes. Figure if he designed it it can’t be all bad. Besides, I think he works for the Jersey mob. Google said he in Jersey City… I gotta buy his designs. I don’t need no steenking knee replacements.

Every page has a section like this.

I haven’t used the Mag 18 myself, you might get some overhang if you are planning to use Tauren on it.

It is a single coil RDA, It will fit perfectly on your Mag 18.

Uh oh. Isn’t dual coil better? Or will it make little difference for testing purposes.

Yo, broken balls. You just wanted my Address. Don’t you take my donation and fly out here. I’ll bust your balls. (More.)
