Couple questions. Dead Rabbit Pro RDA. How long should the legs be for the coils? I think the guide tool goes from 4 to 8? Even at 4, they seem too long.
I have calipers that’ll measure metric… How far above the deck should the coils be?
Just installed a .36 ohm flat twisted coil. Lowest ohms that came with my purchase from Amazon.
Hit the fire button, one got a nice red, the other had 1 wrap that wouldn’t turn red so I took a screwdriver and dragged it across the coils as I’ve seen and read and it completely disintegrated!
Wattage 100. Too high for that resistance? I think I want coils at .15 to .2 ohms. What’s a good common coil? I have a couple Alien Clapton’s but they’re .45 ohms.
Update:
I installed a couple .45 Alien Clapton coils, and when I hit the fire button it tells me the ohms are .22. Because I destroyed the a fore mention coils, I cranked the wattage down to 50. It’s a no glow, captain. then, 60, then 70 and up to 100. I got a nice glow at 100 but it took a few seconds before the coils turned red.
At 100 watts, one of the coils flamed up. Looked like fire to me! Maybe .0016 mm high? 1/16th inch. Settled down and now she doesn’t flame anymore but to me it takes a bit to start to glow. What do I know, new to RDA’s.
