I need a decent scale

Got a scale from Amazon, measures down to 1/10th of a gram. Or so it claims. Don’t recall the details, but one recipe called for .3 mg’s of flavor.

Added a few drops, says zero. Couple more drops and it’ll say .7.

Recommendations for a poor old bastard on a fixed income? Something the wife will not notice on the bank statement?

@PaulyWalnuts The LB-501 is the standard workhorse for me. 0.01g resolution, and 500g top limit. AC power, no batteries, no timeout, and backlit LED display.

The LB-501 is a solid performer. I have one and it’s very frugal on batteries. For me the power connection is just in the wrong place. Mine also came with 2@200g calibration weights.
The way I mix I have never needed or been screwed by the timeout feature. (Like I’m gonna stop for long, mid pour of a single concentrate). Nope.

Before the 501 I had and still have a cheap China $10 0.xx scale, no weights, that measured accurately (used the 501 weights) . Oddly it stunk of petroleum and was stored in the garage for months.

Got it! Love it! Thanks! :grinning:

For tiny amounts like 0.3 g, a regular scale isn’t precise enough. Use a syringe/pipette for liquid flavors or pre-dilute your concentrates so you can measure larger, easier-to-handle amounts. Cheap milligram scales also work if needed.

Yeah, I got a better one that @anon24975801 mentioned. LOVE it.

Thanks!
