Help with flavor percentages

Hey Captain I think I may be able to help out PaulyWalnuts with a really good Whoppers recipe. I’ve had it since 2021 but never shared it. So I entered it into the VCC and made it public. I realize that he may have only the TPA Malted Milk in his stash, but its a really good representation of a classic Whoppers candy.

I’d never have guessed they’d have a shelf life! Any idea of roughly how long?

My new hero!

Can you see my stash? I don’t have the custard or honeycomb. Is there anything I have that I can substitute with?

Else I gotta wait a couple months before spending more $$$. Wife see’s a rather large investment. I told her when all is said and done, the cost as near as I can figure, of a 100 ml bottle of juice will be less that $2.00, with the average price of around $20.

All she see’s are the hundreds I’m still spending on cigars while I screw up all my recipes.

Bet it’ll be worth it!

Thanks SO much. I’ve shared all my current recipes, if you wouldn’t mind scoping them out and providing feedback I won’t kiss you on the lips.

Speaking of Kissy lips. We have a dog that goes absolutely ape shit when the wife comes home from anywhere. Could be gone long enough to get her nails done.

One day, she came home while the dog was outside and she started barking. The dog, that is…

Old bat behind us yells, “Shut that fucking dog up!” I said, “Hush”, to the dog one time and she shut up. I’m saying she barked for less than a minute.

I yelled back, “you slip that tongue to Your grand kids when the visit?” This from someone that cranks they’re stereo up! AD/DC no less! No group I hate worse.

I like rock and roll, but I also like Frank Sinatra, 'ya know. And I don’t care what kinda music it is, I don’t wanna hear it.

Wife and I often sit on the patio, she sipping wine, me chugging spiced rum and root-beer… She knitting or what ever woman do… Me smoking cigars. I like quiet!

LOL I’m more of a pipe guy myself. I’ve been working on a Irish Cream based pipe recipe for a while. I kind of laid off on it because I got frustrated, but I’ll pick it up again someday.

I hear your pain bud. My lovely wife gives me crap all the time about buying vape stuff. And yes it is defiantly worth a little investment. For me not an issue having the $ she just doesn’t like me spending it. The trick is to ask if you can have stipend (a set amount that you can spend to be able to buy a few things from time to time. I’ve gotten to the point where I have two good all day vapes and really don’t need to continue to create, though I still enjoy developing new stuff .
Like Session Drummer mentioned we just need to find you an ADV. I take it that you have a sweet tooth just like I do. I have quite a few really good candy recipes in my archives. I’ll send you a IM for some info and I’ll see about mixing up some samples to try that I can send you. If we can find you an All Day Vape then you only need to purchase the flavors for that recipe and it saves you a lot of money, because you don’t have to keep buying flavors to create just buying in bulk to mix your ADV.

I also noticed that you have a recipe for three musketeers candy bar. I also have given that profile a recipe attempt, it definitely translates to vape fairly well. I added mine to the calculator side and I can give it a mix to share with you.

@McDuckie, Thanks a lot for pitching in your help - that’s what the Community is all about. I really like your advice regarding perfecting an ADV recipe and then buying the flavors for that - saves a lot of money and effort. Good luck folks.

I love the idea of a stipend! Brilliant! Fixed income and she control’s the checkbook.

Once I get this mixing down, I wanna try making my own coils.

Another LONG learning curve I’m thinking.

That’d be awesome, thanks!

I definitely still wanna experiment, though. Keeps the mind busy.

And it give this bored old fart something to do. Besides making LOOONG irrelevant replies.

Until they’re crap to use. All coils are not equal.

Not really, just familiar yourself with ohms law and don’t experiment on a mech. Easier to order pre wound coils when starting out.

I understand Mechs are dangerous as hell? I don’t think I’ll be ready to start building my own for at least 6 months.

Not really that hard here’s how I learned. Straight from the master himself. The Art of Vaping on YT the dudde is an amazing teacher.

Damn, that’s fascinating. Bookmarked it. I actually have a tool specifically designed to coil wire for wooden model ship building.

Very slow small drill with different size bits. A hole at one end. Stick the wire through the hole, hit the trigger and it winds it up.

Lol me too I had a friend 3d print me a coil making cheat tool. It works great I can whip up 2-3-4 core fused claptons in minutes. Though It’s still fun to make them the old fashioned way too.

Yeah, no. I’m not doing anything the “Old fashioned way”! I have SEVERAL thousand dollars invested in wooden model ship building tools. I have a table saw that can make a 1/4 “, by 1/4 " parallelogram from a 1/4” sq stick.

Tools for ship building? Hobby? A lathe that’ll handle a 1" strip of wood? Take it down to a beveled 3/16th inch dowel. No problem. Go ahead, buy it all. Anything resembling carcinogens? Nope. She was a nurse for 60 years! Knows it all! Closest she ever came to a buzz off of weed, was 15 years ago, when we saw Roger Waters perform “The Wall”, live.

Clapton? Saw him live, too. Shortly after he lost his son. Or does that mean something else? Been to a LOT of concerts. Don’t remember Woodstock so I may have been there. Don’t remember having green weenie, so probably not.

That’s in my bookmarks, so when the time comes, I’ll watch it a few times.

Wouldn’t the tighter the coil be better? With my tool, I could make the coil so tight, there would be no gap between wraps. I’ll admit I didn’t pay close attention to the video, as I aim to get into making my own coils several months from now. AFTER I make some good flavors.

I have ONE bottle of juice steeping right now. I’m calling it 3 musketeers. Milk chocolate, Nougat and sweetener. It has another 3 days out of 2 weeks to steep. 3% NIC. praying.

Database suggested median % of flavoring.

Speaking of steeping… I forget for 2 or 3 days, to shake the bottle. Am I screwing myself?

Actually a spaced coil is easier to start with. Pretty much eliminates hot spots so it is also much safer.

I see. Thanks!

Pauly, you can alway’s sample your mixed recipes, throughout their intended steep. You might find that any given mix actually tastes better with less of, or maybe no steep(good off the shake) at all!
