It really is more about how it feels than what you see. You can’t explain exactly what is you need to do to get the coils done right, you just need to do it find that feeling that works. It is all about tension and the angle of the wire as you feed it. Finding the right speed is also key. Some people seem to be able to wrap really fast and others like to take it very slow. I find myself somewhere in the middle. I start slow and then build up speed as I go.

@whthek i need a set. I have been looking at getting one, but they are pricey here in SA. I got a great tip to use one of these cheap Macro lenses that clips onto your phone and a little tripod phone holder. Then your phone becomes your magnifying glass

Good idea. Whatever work’s, right?! You could talk on the phone, monitor your blood pressure, and check the weather, in between coil’s. Hehe

@LEED What I post here is only my more successful coils. If you could see how much wire I have wasted on BAD coils. It is rather sad.

I mean it looks cool but would be a bitch to heat up and v’brush clean after 120mls of salted caramel. Might need to trim those legs to prevent a short

I did a new set today. Again 3 x 26AWG with a 36 AWG alien wrap. I didn’t take photos of it but I did this shoy of the results.

Now that I have been using my aliens for a little while, I must say, they are so much better than the standard fused clapton coils I have been using before. If you have not tried alien coils before, you have to give them a try.

It’s because you worked hard to learn how to make them, it’s just an opinion, I find the novelty wears off and you’re just content with dual core fused

Coils are fun to make, the coil vids and stuff were quite popular but the same guys that got famous for posting this builds usually just atick to smaller coils in RBAs now. Grimm green uses small atomizers these days, rip tripper is a blonde superhero, Vic uses pods, ohmboy lives in a shitty state, brogan vapes tiny suckers and they will all ise fancier coils but the difference is they are just product placements to give builders work.
Maybe it’s different now, I got out of the caping algorithm when nobody was doing anything but reviewing pods. The only guys that get suggested are TODD AND grim green

I see your point. And maybe you are right, it might be all in my head. But for now, I am totally happy using ailens over anything else. Maybe that changes once I get bored with making them.
