What Has Made You Smile Today

Grok turning against Elon Musk and Trump, as well as becoming more left-leaning than ChatGPT - It seems that the AI apocalypse will only be one for those who have problems understanding humanism, morality, human rights, any religious tenet, and the rule of law.

Oh happy days!

The annual chat with Ian Hislop.

For those who aren’t Brits, he is the longstanding editor of the UK’s most sued publication (and sometimes he won). In addition to this, he is a permanent panellist on Have I Got News For You - The Friday night satirical comedy panel show which constantly causes headaches for the BBC lawyers.

So, a jolly ramble through the year with one who satirises all equally and has the balls to do it openly.

Engaging in a bit of chaotic good.

ALL BRITS here’s a way to save £15 this Christmas. Or, just eat for almost nothing.

ASDA Rewards has an offer where you get a £2 voucher after your first shop, £3 after the second, £5 after the third, and £5 after the fourth. They all must be on 4 separate days but with no minimum spend.

Those of you with functioning brains will have noticed the error they made.

Personally I am building up my cheeseboard for under £! this year.

I remember him explaining many years ago that with the change of law they came up with, even when you win you’ll be the one forking over the money.
Doesn’t seem fair, does it. Or reasonable.

I had wild duck the other day.

I was thinking about getting them engraved. Gives a whole different meaning to “I’ve got a bullet with your name on it.” :smirk:

Are they sweet and delicious lead shot?

I didn’t taste them yet. They probably are. One of them has a copper colour though.

I noticed that from the photo, so you need to lick it to test - you’re already mad enough, so you’ll be fine.

I used the same principle when I realised that I love chemistry but hadn’t tasted lead before.

Pr. Andrea Sella is probably the poster-boy and key living proponent of the lick test as a foundational scientific step.

I might have that one put on my :headstone:

Being on it is much better than being in it - you can check it for legroom.

He doesn’t seem to like it much.

I live opposite the graveyard. I have the perfect stakeout.

Me too, so I always walk through it and check that the residents and me are on good terms.

I have some friends there already, and the rest doesn’t seem to have a problem with me.
I can’t remember sleeping as well as I do since I live in this house. Even lost the compulsion to bite my nails way past the quick.

That’s great. I generally suffer from extreme insomnia and only sleep well in odd circumstances like storms, warzones, police cells, the bottom of rivers, on top of trees etc.

I can relate to that, or could. It’s like me falling asleep during a concert of Slash’s Snakepit.
In bed it would take me hours to get to sleep. Every time I woke up for a toilet visit, it would take another few hours. It was hopeless.
The only time I had no problem sleeping or getting back to sleep was when I had to get up.
I would drag myself through the day, feeling like shit, telling myself it was going to be an early night.
Of course by that time I would be wide awake. I remember washing windows at 4 AM.

Are you familiar with the notion that people who manage to sleep in police cells are always guilty?

I don’t believe I have ever claimed to be innocent regarding anything of meaning.

I recall you once claimed to have been framed by your pockets. Which is a claim of innocence. I understand I can assume that particular incident was meaningless.

Depends on what you are referring to. I do remember mentioning that some frame my impossibility based on my bag and pockets: As they will only ever contain exactly what is needed, even if the need is utterly inexplicable. What I described as Hyperspatial Muse Syndrome - I will never have what I need but somehow have what others ask for.
