Boy, did we miss out. Remember Gus? The Terrier that can stare for hours begging for treats in the garage?

I had several beggin strips on the counter in the dining room. I’m fond of torturing small animals, so I put one on the counter, just enough to hang over the edge without tipping. Gus is a Terrier. He’ll jump up and try to snatch one. Most often he’ll grab it.

Today I grabbed my cell phone camera/video in an attempt to catch him in the act for you. Cat jumped up on the counter. You know where this is going…

To all you flat lander’s: The cat knocked the treat on the floor! Split second, Gus got it and took off at the speed of light!

Too fast for my camera and I…

We got SLAMMED with almost tsunami type rains the night before last, grass is growing like crazy, and at night there was a chorus of frogs for some reason. Don’t know where they were, or where they go during the heat of the day, but was grilling …

Got to participate in planning my oldest great granddaughters wedding! 3 grand kids and 2 great grand kids. Dunno why, but she and I have always been REAL close. Every summer from age 10 to 17 she asked to come visit us in California from Illinois. She even calls me once every other week. Get grandma on the line and just chat about life.

Bought her 1st house for her 20th birthday. 23, they just moved into a quieter hood. They being her and her fiance.

She told granny and grumpa about the engagement before her own parents! Her parents were in the army in schofield barracks on Oahu Island, Hawaii. Her birth date was supposed to be on my birthday November 19th. We landed a week before the birth date (what’s the correct word for that?) and stayed for 3 weeks. When was she born? The day we landed at the San Fransisco Airport! December 3rd.

Her mom wanted a C section since she was beginning to worry but the army Dr. said no. At the time my wife worked as a flight nurse. Helicopter air ambulance. Critical Care Registered Flight Nurses (CCRFN) can do WAY more that an RN, but they work under the auspices of a Dr.

Her Dr. was a Coronal in the army. Talked to him and he called the hospital there and TOLD them what to do! Good thing, too. She was aspirating her mothers (I dunno what you call it) Shit? Probably why we’re so close. We’re both full of it.

Anyway, the wife and I are sitting in the first row! AND I get to give a speech! So, why do I mention Hawaii? When she told us she was engaged I asked her if she wanted to go to her birth place for her honeymoon. She knows I’m feeble minded and felt compelled to remind me she was born in Hawaii.

I said, "Shit. I guess you’ll want to go sometime between December and February so you can see the whales jumping from out of the ocean. Mating season, doncha know. I could smell the shit in her pants from 2,000 miles away.

Told her she needed to research what Islands she wanted to visit, for how long and what part of each island she wanted to stay so we could rent hotel rooms. We’ll pay for one fancy restaurant, the Pearl Harbor Museum, a Luau, and $2,000 dollars to rent ski jets.

We’ll pay for a catamaran to see the whales from Maui on the last few days of the trip. Best chance at seeing whales.

No idea what to say in the speech. Dunno how to express my love and pride in this kid!

Open to suggestions.
