I’m sure you’ve heard the song “Stuck in the Middle with You”-by Stealers Wheel (showing my age again lol). I immediately thought of it, when reading your post.

I had that on my mind, but I didn’t want to call the both of you clowns and jokers :sunglasses:

Well, my 13.5 year old Weber Genesis was starting to act up, which I can’t complain about, as it’s been over 13 years of flawless operation. I really neglected the cleaning/maintenance, and it suffered outside many times, uncovered, so it’s had a hard life. The gas tubes had rusted, and it wasn’t heating evenly, so rather than detail it like I normally do, decided to replace the plates, tubes, flavorizer bars, igniters, and igniter block.

Wow, back to brand new-ish.

They really are durable grills, SD.
I’m still running my og burner tubes, but have replaced flavorizer bars(twice), Igniter assembly, swapped to SS grates early on, from the cast iron it came with, and just yesterday installed new caster wheels, as the originals literally broke apart. Bought mine new at Home Depot around 2001

Looking good @whthek, and I don’t like the NEW Genesis-is, so I gotta fix the OLD one hehe.

Thank you @Jose.

Do you soak yours in water before cooking, Joel? I can’t seem to get it to come out tender when I prepare it. :person_shrugging:

No, what I do is after I cook the meat in oil or ghee I toss in the rice to toast it a bit and then I add veggies an just enough beef stock in the cast iron to cover and I cook on high until the stock is absorbed and it’s soft every time. No lid no fluffing or nothing.

Works for noodles too

You’d think I get bored of stir fry but I eat it almost every day, breakfast hash on weekends and a burger once a month then 15lbs of apples with the meal.

I haven’t had a good stir-fry in ages. I think this weekend, the girlfriend and I will put one together. I love me Soy Sauce, too! Let you know what we came up with.
You must be shedding weight, no?
