Design

I received the Sunset Orange colour for my review sample, the device is available in 6 other colours

  • Black
  • Silver
  • Green
  • Gradient Blue
  • Sakura Pink
  • Gradient Brown

The zinc alloy gradient finish truly stands out under direct light, while the checker board pattern on the leather C-Frame battery cover adds a touch of elegance. This vape kit is undeniably eye-catching. I’m pleased to report that the finish on the Drag 5 resists fingerprints and micro-scratches, maintaining its sleek appearance even with regular day-to-day use.

Positioned above the screen is a responsive power button with a satisfying click and minimal travel. Below the screen, you’ll find a multifunctional flip switch, plus and minus buttons, and a USB-C charging port for convenient and efficient charging. Up on top, the Drag 5 features an offset 510 connection secured by three Torx head screws for enhanced durability, and can accommodate atomizers up to 26 mm in diameter without any overhang.

Voopoo has introduced a unique approach to the C-Frame battery tray design with the Drag 5, featuring a removable leather cover secured magnetically. The cover lifts easily from the side to reveal the battery compartment, which is clearly marked with battery orientation. A convenient cloth strip is included to assist with battery removal. While it’s recommended to charge batteries using an external charger, the Drag 5 is equipped with 5V/3A fast charging, allowing for a quick recharge directly within the mod when necessary. The “JUST DRAG” logo is elegantly stamped on the top of the battery tray.

The button and menu operations for the Drag 5 are as follows:

  • Press the fire button five times to turn the device on or off, or toggle the switch if set for this function.
  • Press the fire button three times to lock or unlock the power setting, or use the switch if configured for this purpose.
  • Press the “+” and “–” buttons simultaneously to access the menu.

Within the menu, you can select from four modes: Smart, RBA, Eco, and TC. Additionally, you can customize the multifunction switch, choose your preferred user interface colour, check battery evaluation, reset the puff count.

The Drag 5 features a large, high-clarity OLED screen that displays key information such as power settings, output mode, battery life, puff count, output voltage, resistance, and a puff timer. The screen remains easy to read in any lighting condition, ensuring optimal visibility. For added customization, users have the option to enable a flame animation that plays during each puff if you so wish.

The Drag 5 is equipped with six built-in safety protections to ensure secure and reliable use. These include 8-second vaping overtime protection, short-circuit protection, overcharge protection, output over-current protection, low battery protection, and chip over-temperature protection. These features provide users with peace of mind while using the device.

Final thoughts

I have no complaints about the Drag 5 mod. I particularly appreciate the multifunction switch, which allows users to customize its function by selecting one of three options in the menu. The leather cover is also a unique and innovative take on the traditional C-frame battery tray design. Despite being a dual 18650 device, the mod is very comfortable to hold and has a well-balanced weight. In my opinion, the Drag 5 is a strong addition to the Drag family—an all-around reliable device that delivers consistently powerful hits every time.

I would like to thank Sourcemore for sending the Voopoo Drag 5 mod over for review, and I hope you enjoyed reading my thoughts on this one.

Very good review @Daredevil, thank you.
This mod has a retro 70’s/80’s look to me and I like that, I also like the option to turn the device on and off without having to do the usual rapid five clicks which I am now finding difficult since developing radial palsy in my dominant hand and risk burning my coils and cotton in the process.

@JimmyLee Thank you, It definitely does have that retro look going on. Yes I agree having a dedicated on/off switch is for the best.
