Today I will be reviewing the ARTEMIS Top Coiler RDTA from Thunderhead Creations. This RDTA is a unique collaboration designed in Germany by the renowned TNYVPS, also known as Tony Vapes. With a global limited production of only 1,666 units, this exclusive release is a must-have for collectors and enthusiasts seeking a blend of innovation and rarity to add to their collection.

Design
Thunderhead Creations continues to excel in the RDTA field, boasting a legacy of six prior releases. This latest single-coil RDTA incorporates notable quality improvements that enhance functionality and aesthetics:
- Removable Dual Airflow Top Cap Design: Double O-rings with precise tolerances ensure a secure and seamless fit.
- Integrated Metal Plug: Designed for the fill port, this feature effectively prevents leaks, providing a hassle-free experience.

Build deck
The build deck of this RDTA features a minimalist postless design that prioritizes simplicity and functionality. Key highlights include:
- Patented Two-Step Single Screw Clamp System: A reinforced M4 grub screw ensures a secure hold on the coil. The single-screw mechanism allows for quick and easy installation, making it highly user-friendly.
- Coil Trimming Guide: An included trimming tool ensures precise coil length, simplifying the preparation process for optimal performance.
- Streamlined Coil Installation: After cutting one of the two included coils to the recommended length, simply loosen the M4 grub screw, insert the coil, and tighten the screw to secure it firmly in place.
This efficient and intuitive design caters to both beginners and experienced builders, allowing for the complete novice to build this with ease. There are large wicking wells to nestle your wick onto of the German steel rods protruding from the tank below.
Wicking
Once burned in, the coil came out at 0.26 Ohms. Insert cotton, trim and tuck into the wells and prime up for testing.
Performance
Once fully set up and filled, the RDTA showcased impressive performance right out of the gate. Here are the key takeaways:
- Initial Testing: Running a single coil at 50 watts with the airflow fully open delivered smooth, flavourful draws.
- Optimized Settings: After experimenting, I settled at 55 watts with the airflow dialled down to just over halfway open. This configuration provided the best balance of flavour, vapour production, and overall satisfaction for the installed coil.
- Airflow Quality: The buttery smooth airflow is a standout feature of this RDTA. Every draw is effortless and accompanied by the satisfying crackle of the coil, enhancing the vaping experience.
- Flavour and Vapour Production: Both are excellent, with the RDTA extracting full-bodied flavours and producing dense, satisfying vapour.
- Drip Tip Comfort: The honeycomb-styled 810 drip tip is not only comfortable, but also remains cool to the touch, even when chain vaping.
- Wicking Performance: The wicking system keeps up brilliantly, ensuring a consistent and enjoyable vaping experience without any dry hits.
- Ease of refilling and Bottom Fill Option Included squonk pin and wide filling port make for effortless refilling.
Verdict
This RDTA delivers a stellar performance, combining exceptionally smooth airflow, fantastic flavour, and consistent wicking to offer a truly premium vaping experience. Well done to Tony Vapes and THC for this brilliant single coiler RDTA!
