ThunderCloud & Vaping Bogan Bonza Pro RTA Review

Introduction

The ThunderCloud & Vaping Bogan Bonza Pro RTA arrives as the latest evolution of the well-known Bonza line. The Pro version looks to refine the formula rather than reinvent it, focusing on improved airflow control, versatile build options, and a design that feels both familiar and a bit more polished.

In this review, we’ll be having a closer look at how the Bonza Pro performs in day-to-day use. So the question is whether this updated iteration truly earns the “Pro” title, or simply rides on the popularity of the original.

For this review, I received the Silver Black version of the Bonza Pro RTA

There are 5 additional colour options to choose from Purple, Matte Black, Matte SS (Stainless Steel), Pink Black, and Brushed SS.

Design & Features

The top section keeps a straightforward, A comfortable 810 drip tip housed tightly in the top cap. Airflow control is smoothly integrated into the body, maintaining a cohesive look rather than breaking up the lines of the tank.

The functional layout that makes refilling quick and mess-free, with a quarter turn to remove the top cap, revealing large kidney shaped fill ports. While the knurling around key adjustment points provides good grip without feeling overly aggressive.

The whole tank disassembles easily to make maintenance and recoiling a simple, hassle-free process. The chimney section has been nicely engraved with the Bonza logo giving a smart look to the overall design.

The addition of the bubble glass (which increases the capacity to 6 ml) and spare white 810 drip tip suit the thank well IMO.

The bottom of the tank is clean with some branding and a gold-plated 510 pin.

The inner chamber sections are easy to remove, allowing users to switch between single- and dual-coil configurations with ease. The fitted o-ring is a clever design as this holds them in place when the top section is removed, preventing them from falling out.

These are a welcome design feature that adds genuine versatility to the overall setup

The chamber sections fit snugly inside the chimney section and onto the deck, creating a tight seal that helps generate efficient top to bottom airflow control and improved flavour density.

The notched internal section visible in the picture to allow large amounts of airflow directed down towards the deck.

Deck

When paired with the chamber insert, the deck forms the Bonza Pro’s three-directional airflow setup, channelling air efficiently around the coils for balanced precise performance.

The postless deck features airflow slots that direct air beneath the coils, while additional side airflow is channelled through the chamber insert.

The deck is clearly designed with larger builds in mind. Generous wicking ports sit on either side, giving plenty of room for thicker cotton without crowding or choking the channels. A deep juice well beneath the deck provides extra liquid capacity and helps reduce the chance of dry hits during longer pulls.

Build convenience is further improved by chunky flat-head post screws that offer solid grip and are less prone to stripping, making coil installation straightforward.

With a 12 mm deck diameter and large post holes, there’s ample space to accommodate bulky or exotic coil builds without feeling cramped.

Dual Coil Build

Let’s start off with the included set of 3 mm quad-core fused clapton’s coils for this build.

I cut these at 6 mm in length

These coils fit easily into the large post holes, tighten them down and straighten them up.

Once fitted and adjusted into the correct position in the deck

I dry burn the coils and remove any hot spots

No included cotton, so I cut some trusty Muji strips and fit this loosely in the wicking wells

Dual Coil Performance

The Bonza Pro’s three-directional airflow hit’s the coils from multiple angles, creating even airflow distribution and smoother draws. Paired with the dual-coil chamber insert, it helps concentrate flavour while still allowing plenty of airflow for dense vapour production. The result is a well-balanced vape that delivers strong flavour without sacrificing cloud output. I pushed this build to 120 Watts, and it kept up easily when chain vaping, a tribute to its enlarged wicking wells that will work well with more exotic build installs.

Single Coil Build

No additional coils included in the package, so I reached for a 3.5 mm fused clapton as this deck is more than capable of handling a large coil like this.

Trimming this coil legs to 6 mm in length.

And installing it into the deck

Swapping out to the single coil chamber insert

Check the fit and clearance making sure nothing is touching

Dry burning and removing any hotspots.

Installing cotton strip

Trimming excess cotton and tucking the wick into the juice wells

Soak this install and ready to go

Single Coil Performance

Single coil performance is impressive with the fitted single-coil chamber insert, especially when running a 3.5 mm coil at 90 watts. The chamber insert helps focus airflow for better flavour while keeping the draw smooth. Even at higher power, wicking isn’t an issue at all, with consistent saturation and no dry hits, delivering dense vapour with every hit.

Verdict

The Bonza Pro is a highly versatile RTA with the flexibility to run both dual and single coil setups. The adjustable airflow is buttery smooth and hits the installed build from multiple angles, delivering a consistently satisfying vape. Running it in single coil mode will appeal to battery-conscious vaper’s, allowing comfortable use on a single 21700 mod. Switch to a dual coil build, and it easily handles high power, letting you push your build hard while still getting excellent results and rich performance from your favourite e-liquid.

The included extras, along with the design and overall aesthetic, are spot on and complement a wide range of devices perfectly. This is another successful collaboration from ThunderCloud, delivering a fantastic RTA that further cements its position in the market. With award-winning releases across almost every category, it’s clear this is a company that continues to set the standard.

I would like to thank ThunderCloud for sending the Bonza Pro RTA over for review, and I hope you enjoyed reading my thoughts on this one.
