Design

The Requiem RBA, crafted by El Mono Vapeador carries the same design ethos as the wider Requiem line - compact, functional, and stylish Machined from high-quality stainless steel, it feels solid in hand while remaining slim enough to fit seamlessly into most Boro-style devices.

At the heart of the design are the three front airflow insert rings, which are slightly angled upward to direct air straight onto the coil. The inner chamber is domed and there is plenty of clearance for installing larger coils. The e-liquid makes its way down the side flow channels and into the well on the deck.

These inserts are interchangeable with blanks, giving you the ability to adjust how much side airflow is hitting the coil. Pair this with the four swappable bottom airflow pins (1.0 mm, 2.0 mm, 3.0 mm, and 4.0 mm) and the additional side airflow block pin, and you have an impressive level of customization—from a tight MTL to a restricted DL style.

The Requiem comes paired with its own proprietary tank section, designed exclusively for this bridge. While this means you won’t be swapping it into other Boro tanks, the trade-off is worth it—Thunderhead Creations has maximized usability with a generous 6ml capacity.

The Requiem has been designed with versatility in mind, and that extends to its filling options. It boasts both front and side fill ports, making it adaptable to a wide range of Boro-style mods. You can fully disassemble the tank for cleaning by undoing the reverse threaded chimney section.

The Requiem RBA doesn’t just perform well—it looks the part too. Branding is subtle but stylish, with the El Mono Vapeador logo etched cleanly onto the front, immediately marking its designer pedigree. Around the mid-section, a graffiti-style scribe wraps the body, adding a modern edge without feeling overdone. On the back, the design flows seamlessly into an integrated cross motif, tying the whole look together.

Build Deck

The Requiem RBA features a straightforward and user-friendly parallel dual post build deck

Beneath the posts, the deck is designed with efficient wicking in mind. It boasts adequately sized D-shaped wicking slots that lead down into a deep e-liquid well. This well ensures a generous reserve of juice is available to keep the cotton saturated, preventing dry hits during prolonged use. When installed into the tank section, the deck is held snugly and sealed by an O-ring that surrounds its base, ensuring a leak-resistant fit.

The deck itself is held securely into the base section by an incorporated O-ring housed directly underneath it. This design ensures a tight, leak-resistant seal when the deck is pressed and seated into place within the tank.

This removable deck section has very good 510 threading that can be threaded onto a mod for coil instillation.

Build

Using one of the included coils, I set about building on this deck.

Threading the coils through the opened post holes and clamping them down firmly in place by tightening the very decent gold-plated flat head screws.

Snipping off the extended legs, ensuring there are no cheeky strands of wire remaining that might touch on the chamber wall and give me a short.

Happy with the coil positioning.

I set about changing out the pre-installed blank pin to give me some under-coil airflow using the 2.0 mm AFC pin.

I additionally swap out 2 of the side airflow pin’s for blanks to optimize the side AFC for this build.

Coil dry burned in, and any hot spots strummed out.

The coil comes out to a 0.31 Build, No included cotton, so I reach for some trusty Mji cotton and cut me a strip and thread it through the coil.

A bit of trimming and raking and gently tuck the cotton into the wicking channels, leaving it loose enough with just a small piece of wick peaking through the bottom.

Time to get the wicks wet and RBA reassembled and into a device for testing.

Performance

The performance delivered by the Requiem RBA is exceptional, as perfectly demonstrated by the installed 0.31 ohm coil. This build strikes an ideal balance, facilitating a warm, dense, and incredibly flavourful vapour with a sweet crackle from the coil running at 50 Watts.

The flavour production is nothing short of super, the design of the chamber and airflow concentrates the e-liquid’s profile, delivering rich notes. Simultaneously, cloud production is impressive, generating thick plumes that will satisfy those who enjoy a cloudy vape.

Furthermore, this outstanding performance is achieved without any compromise on integrity. Thanks to the secure O-ring seal that holds the deck snugly in the base and the well-designed D-shaped wicking slots, the Requiem RBA has shown no signs of leaking. This flawless operation ensures making for a clean, reliable, and highly satisfying vaping experience. The Requiem RBA truly deserves the prestigious award accolades it has garnered, most notably the Vapexpo 2025 Best Atomizer Award!.

I would like to thank ThunderCloud for sending the Requiem RBA over for review, and I hope you enjoyed reading my thoughts on this one.
