Wow!! Talk about a full conversion!
Night and day difference.
Very impressive results Phil. Sounds like things couldn’t have turned out better! I’m happy for you!

The only things re-used on the new deck were the Perko battery selector switch (big red one) and the Yamaha 704 Remote Control (the throttle arm and ignition). Nothing else was worthy .
I have a question… Obviously in the full sun, it gets hot. A bimini over the benches would be great, but it can’t be installed the traditional way. If I want to add one, it would have to be mounted ‘backwards’. Would that just look too stupid?
I wouldn’t be able to lay it flat because it would come down right on top of the console. If I moved it back, it wouldn’t cover the benches enough. Also, the rear arm would be right in my way when extended (dumb thing would block valuable fishing real estate off the side). If I mount it backwards, the front (now the rear) arm would come down right next to the console and cause no obstruction.
That’s a great idea! I’ll check into that one!
So they do exist, but a question… if I am looking at them correctly, I will need a slide kit for each rail mounting location, right? Front, middle, back. I haven’t found one long one with multiple attachments, so I’m looking at three separate track systems that will need to be slid about in unison? (Sorry but I can’t quite understand how to build an 80/20 system on their store so this is a link to a kit).

Another idea… How about two separate mounting kits? It wouldn’t slide, but I could have one for travel/stowed position and one for one the lake use position. Lame again?
I could easily be misunderstanding. Happens all the time. But it looks like there is only one mounting point, but the top attaches to the rail in three places (front, center, rear). How can one slide handle all three?
It would be a new top. It mounts to the fence brackets with a slide pin. But the old one did too. Wouldn’t all three mount points need to slide?
I see what you’re saying now. So the front and rear struts would have brackets permanently mounted, so when it’s meant to be deployed those struts would mount there. When stowed, there’s no need for the front/rear brackets because the top is only going to be stowed when slid all the way back. I was thinking all three mount points would need to slide, but that would only be necessary if I wanted to slide the entire top back and forth when deployed, which would allow me to adjust for the angle of the sun if desired. But of course, that would also mean if I chose to have it deployed and slid back, it would block my fishing. I hope you understand what I’m saying. Some people have a way with words; others not have way.
That’s what got me Thursday! I always butter up because I’ve been burned enough to not want to burn again. But I was on the dock in the shade and didn’t even notice the sun. But I was gifted a red nose for skipping the lotion, so I look like a drunkard today.
Took the words out of my mouth.
Fixed the trim reading. Stupid. Disconnected wire.
In my limited “big boy boat” experience wiring was invented by satan himself, I had an issue with my bass boat a few years ago that gave me such a headache I bought a jonboat and used it for the summer lol
The wiring would have been a nightmare if I chose to use analog gauges. That’s actually one reason I chose to run it all on the network backbone. I replaced all wiring except for the harness that connects to the binnacle/ignition, and eliminated 80% or more of the old wiring by skipping analog.
For the trim issue, Yamaha sets it up for an analog gauge since all of them leave the factory to be wired for analog. And you can’t have dual feeds from a sender or it won’t work on either. So Yamaha simply leaves the network cable capped off. All I had to do was connect the capped wires (and eliminate the analog connection) and the data was fed to the backbone. Luckily, that one was easy.
Looking really nice!!
Awwww, you thought of me! LMAO
Man, you have done a beautiful job. Makes me miss Midwest lake fishing badly! Half stowed makes me think it needs an air foil and then some flames painted along the pontoons. Awesome job @Pennywise!
champions, catch and release to.
Love to see fish this size returned
