I’m honestly shocked though that you didn’t see (in the design) or include a single “Flux capacitor” joke, or Back to the Future reference (or pic)! You’re slipping!

To me (right or wrong), I’ve always taken it to mean “you’re going nowhere”. Simply because swings go back and forth, and roundabouts are nothing but a circle.
