What does your typical MTL coil look like, AWG, wraps, ID?
This is probably tank specific but I’ll ask anyway:
I’m looking to use SS316L in TC but what AWG is the best to use and why?

I’m only MTL a fraction of the time. I only use the 1.5 Berserker. I only use this wire.
Which one of these do you use and how many wraps?
So would you say round wire - 30AWG / 2.5 ID / 6 Wraps would work well ?
Dude, what are you trying to do? Are talking aboat building your coil or buying a commercial?
As far as building you coil 30 guage six wraps at lets say 2.5 inner diamater is gonna be like over 2 ohms.
27g kanthal with 7 wraps at 2.5 ID come out to 1.21 ohms 28 guage is like 1.6 or there abouts
for a .6ohm coil:
26g, 2mm 5/6 wraps… ss316 rabbit wire. [old stock]
That would work fine. I don’t know what ohms you’re trying to hit, but that would be fine. Try it, and see how the flavor is.
Yeah I was taking a stab in the dark
Sorry, high ohm, around 1 ohm would be good
I use…
SS316L 26Ga òr 28Ga round wire. Normally 3.0mm ID but also 2.5mm ID.
Wraps depends on what I am using it in. 7 to 8 is not bad for normal RTA vaping but I can go up to 10 or 11 wraps for a change.
This would work, but in my experience wire that fine becomes fiddly and easy to malform.
I use 26Ga KA1 coils in my Brunhilde MTL RTA as I run those around 1.2 to 1.5 ohms.
The superfine SS316L Clapton wire is good, I find the ramp up can be a bit slow.
28g SS, 2.5mm id, enough to get just over 1Ω
Lately I have been doing 2.6mm inner dia, 26g ss316l and like 6 wraps…to hit about 0.42 ohms…in my kayfun v5. This is my driving setup and just befor going to bed setup for a light higher nic vape (8mg).
Sorry, I have zero round wire build experience, and minimal MTL experience. I’d make tiny aliens and take what I get for resistance…lol
That is what I do but I can guess the ohms fairly well. The photo below is 2 30 gauge ka. wrapped with 40 gauge ka. comes out to 1.5 ohms.
I’m guessing now but I would guess 28 gauge SS wrapped with 38g SS should at 6 wraps or so 2.5 ID about 1.5 ohms. only an educated guess. Hopefully a SS user will chime in.
