Mixing With NETs?

Good Afternoon All. I never thought that I would be interested in tobacco as an e-liquid flavor, but on the recommendations of many, I recently “took a flyer” and ordered a 10 ml of TPA RY4 Double. I’ve mixed three different tobacco-flavored dessert recipes and all have been totally excellent (to me)! I’ve started to look at some other tobaccos to mix with now, (dammit, I’m hooked), and a question has come up in my mind. I’ve become aware of Naturally Extracted Tobaccos (NETs), specifically the Black Note line of e-liquids, but when I looked into recipes that used this line, there were none to be found, and little to no information regarding mixing recipes with NETs. Since I’m new to the subject, is there something fundamental on this subject that I am missing, that may be common knowledge? I believe I’ve read that NETs can sometimes be “coil gunkers” - is this generally true, or only in some cases? Thanks in advance for the community’s thoughts.

Good Evening All - just wanted to add a final question to these thoughts, which is “are available e-liquid flavorings just as good, or better, or more cost effective, than NETs?” Thanks for any thoughts on the subject.

Im not a tobacco flavour person but I’m pretty sure the reason why you won’t find recipes for Black Note is because it is already a complete e liquid recipe in itself, I mean you could use it in a recipe but that’s not its intended use. Stixx makes some very good NET concentrates for use in recipes and I know there are a number of recipes that use them over on ELR. I have heard that NET’s do gunk up coils which is okay if you use rebuildable atomisers but would be expensive if you don’t having to replace coils all of the time. Sorry but that’s about all I can help you with here but we do have a tobacco wizard called @SquirrelSmash and what he doesn’t know about tobacco’s isn’t worth knowing. Best of luck.

@JimmyLee Thanks for those informative words - they are really appreciated. Unfortunately it looks like @SquirrelSmash has not visited the forum in quite some time, but I would welcome his thoughts too. I had a feeling there was fundamental information on this subject - I believe that I will continue to explore non-NET flavorings, and FA Soho has captured my attention. Thanks again Jimmy - really appreciate your help.

Oh I only tend to appear here if someone summons me: I tend to stay on ELR rather than keeping many accounts up-to-date.

@JimmyLee is right to suggest trying Stixx Mixx NETs as bases for tobacco blends. I personally used them before I decided to go completely tobacco free and I now rely on a wide range of Flavorah, Inawera and FlavourArt tobaccos with lots of flavours I use as condiments to give a more accurate taste, texture and room note.

As you are pondering making more dessert tobaccos, I’d suggest getting Red Burley (Flavorah) and Soho (FlavourArt). These two are incredibly versatile concentrates and pair well with dessert, bakery and coffee styles. So, they are a no-brainer when it comes to your stash: I tend to use them very widely myself and always recommend them as the entry point flavours.

After that, it depends on the style of tobacco you want to pursue.

It’s easy to find me on ELR, though try to avoid @SessionDrummer’s reviews - as you may end up draining your bank account.

Good Afternoon @SquirrelSmash - Thanks very much for getting back to us, and I sincerely appreciate your thoughts. I just bookmarked you into my mixers list, and I’m sure that among your extensive recipes, I can certainly learn some things. It sounds like there might be some health concerns (I’m guessing here) associated with NETs(?) so I think I will likely steer clear, but your confirmation on FA Soho is also appreciated. Thank you again for getting back to us.

@JimmyLee was bang on about Black note, if you are in the UK The Juice Cabin do an extensive range of NET Tobaccos and NET Hybrid Tobacco e-liquids much more reasonable than Black Note but are very good.

They also do NET tobacco and NET Hybrid Tobacco concentrates!

Is that the late Les Pickins Juice Cabin that we are talking about here? He was the first person that I followed on YouTube when he did “Vape It With Les” and it was a big shock when he died a couple of years ago. Vaping With Vic really rates his tobacco e liquids highly as do many others. Good call mate.:+1:t3:

Yes he was mate. I was told that he had diabetes type 2 like myself and died of a massive heart attack. He put a lot of effort into the business (probably too much) and it’s nice to see that the shop in Pontefract is still going strong as is the company in general. I miss him a lot.

My wife has Type 2 which is usually able to be controlled by diet alone but for over 3 years she has been on insulin and other tablets, the tablets keep changing as they try new things to get it under control as a typical reading is over 20 which as you will know is very high, she sometimes get’s the “Hi” message when it’s too high for the device to read. Ironically for 8 years I was a team leader and stand in supervisor at a company that makes the testing strips using screen printing.

Oh hell that must be very high and it’s the first time that I have heard of this happening where it is too high for the device to read and I’m sorry to hear this. Do they know what might be causing it? I’m no angel mind but luckily mine is controlled with tablets and diet although my Father is on insulin now because the tablets were causing damage to his kidneys. Very ironic you being in the industry of making the test strips for the meters.

No idea, she see’s a diabetic nurse at the doctors every fortnight and also goes to a specialised diabetics centre in Bolton and after 3 years if anything her readings are higher! They keep upping the insulin dose and trying out different pills to accompany it but nothing seems to work with most of the pills also giving unwanted side effects.

@Timwis I’m very sorry to hear this, I know that there are new treatments available but it’s finding the right combinations to suit each individual. I hope they find the right ones to suit your wife very soon.
