I’ve been thinking about custard e-liquids lately. On one hand, they’re such a simple and classic flavor, but on the other hand, coming up with a truly amazing custard is really challenging. Then it hit me—why not join forces with all of you here on the forum and see if we can’t work together to create the best custard ever made?
We all come here to share our passion for vaping, and I know there are some incredible mixers among us. How cool would it be to create a VC custard that we all can enjoy and brag about? Let’s pool our knowledge, skills, and creativity to craft something truly special.
I have tried Yellow Matter Custard. It is damn good, but I don’t think it is the best I ever had.
There is a commercial juice that stands out as the best custard I have ever tasted.
Platinum Prime Maximum Custard.
If you want a dense thick custard, I think VC1 is the best I’ve had… But if you want something that’s still on the lighter side with sharp vanilla notes with a good amount of butter I go for the combo of Premium Custard and TPA 2 Vanilla Custard…
Those are the 3 I like but even just smelling that Capella VC1 makes my mouth water…
With the combo of the two, it doesn’t take a lot of steeping either which is a plus but VC1, that takes a lot of time to set up… One of my favourite recipes that made me fall in love with the flavour was a strawberry banana custard by Ken O’hare… And despite the banana and strawberry not being prominent, the recipe got better after months… But I think he used it at like 10%
None other come close I don’t think, as I’ve tried a few others but how I like custard two taste I can achieve in those.
Yeah, I think I know which you’re talking about… It’s the sharpness that almost gives it a metallic taste… I noticed a note like that when I was trying it solo but pairing it with the Premie custard masked it pretty well.
Another thing worth mentioning about that combo is it seems to work the best with fruits, to have the fruit more pronounced. Not sure if this is the reason but I think because of the brightness or thinness of the flavouring it lends a hand to the sharper notes of fruits.
I find that Custard Premium (FA) has a peppery note to it, but you can hide it rather well with a bit of cream.
Holy Vanilla V2 (DIYFS) is a great vanilla, it adds that sharp vanilla hit to anything.
I find myself drawn to Vanilla Shisha (INW) a lot lately. I’m not sure what it is about it, but I use it every time I try make a new juice that needs a strong vanilla.
@OldGoat who WOULDN’T want some Ultimate Custard ?? !!!
As some of the others have mentioned, some get certain off-notes from some, and not others, etc., which can make it hard(er).
Although not an early adopter, I’ve grown close to CAP’s VC 1, and found that by adding some Pudding, Milk, Almond, and even a hint of Graham Cracker, some great things can happen.
I think so, it seems like the safest option and it stands alone but I guess adding vanilla pudding in there would be a good idea too, never tried that.
