Design & Features

The BT200 utilizes a classic dual-battery mod form factor, striking a balance between power and portability. The device features a substantial yet sleek frame, designed to house two external 18650 batteries. This traditional shape is enhanced by its construction: the mod’s narrow sides and chassis are defined by a premium brushed aluminium alloy frame.

A key feature immediately catching the eye is the front face of the Centaurus BT200, which is dominated by a large, crisp 2.4-inch full-view TFT display. This screen is significantly larger than typical mod displays, offering exceptional clarity and ample space to present all vital vaping data.

Completing the device’s premium aesthetic, the rear battery door panel matches the high-quality finish of the frame. This panel is constructed from the same elegant brushed metal, maintaining visual consistency and a solid feel. A subtle but distinct branding element is featured here: the Centaurus & Lots Vape Logo is precisely laser-etched onto the rear panel. The metal back panel features a recessed bottom to allow the cover to be lifted for access to the battery compartment.

A crucial functional detail in any dual-battery mod is the integrity of the battery door, and the Centaurus BT200 excels here. The rear panel is held firmly in place by strong, reliable magnets. Throughout testing, this system proved exceptionally secure, with no door rattling or unwanted movement experienced.

The dual 18650 compartment features a traditional layout with legible battery orientation markings. It includes an essential ribbon tab to tuck under the batteries when inserted, significantly aiding in their removal.

Up top, the BT200 features a centred 510 connection secured by three Torx screws. It utilizes excellent 510 threading and a spring-loaded, gold-plated 510 pin for excellent conductivity. While the mod can comfortably accommodate any atomizer with a maximum diameter of 26mm.

The control interface on the Centaurus BT200 departs from traditional three-button systems, opting for an innovative, streamlined design.

The 3-in-1 Jog Dial System

On the side of the device, you will find the main user inputs centered around a unique 3-in-1 multifunctional jog dial power button. This single component brilliantly integrates three key functions:

  1. The Fire Button: The centre of the dial acts as the main firing mechanism.
  2. 360° Rotary Control System: The outer ring of the dial is a rotary control used for adjusting settings (like wattage) on the screen.
  3. Notification LED: Encircling the dial is an integrated LED light that serves as a visual indicator, prominently displaying the battery level based on its colour.

To confirm selections made using the 360° rotary control, the dedicated Select button is located directly below the jog dial. This streamlined system simplifies navigation, offering a tactile and efficient way to interact with the device’s many settings.

Located just below the Select button is a crucial element for practical, everyday use: a dedicated physical on/off switch. This feature provides a quick and decisive way to completely power down the device, offering superior safety and battery conservation compared to the common five-click method. This feature is a major convenience for vapers who carry the mod in a pocket or bag, ensuring zero chance of accidental firing.

Finally, the USB charging port (supporting Type-C for fast charging) is conveniently located at the bottom. While external charging is always recommended for dual-battery devices, the easily accessible Type-C port offers a handy backup for on-the-go charging or for future firmware updates.

Features

The defining characteristic of the Lost Vape Centaurus BT200 is its integration of high-performance vaping with cutting-edge smart technology, all powered by the new Quest X 3.0 Chipset. This chip is engineered to provide precise, fast, and consistent power delivery, capable of reaching a maximum output of 200Watt’s in 2 Watt increments.

It offers a comprehensive suite of seven vaping modes, including standard Power, a boosted Turbo mode, Voltage, and the highly customizable VPC (Variable Power Curve). This gives vapers complete control over their experience. The chip’s intelligent design also incorporates essential safety measures, such as Short-Circuit, Over-Heat, and Reverse Polarity protection, ensuring reliable and safe operation at all power levels.

What truly sets the BT200 apart is its title as the world’s first Bluetooth 5.1 App-Controlled Mod. This integration allows users to manage virtually every aspect of the device wirelessly via a dedicated smartphone application. From the app, users can remotely adjust wattage and modes, Just because they can? and I guess —most notably—access deep aesthetic customization. This includes selecting from five dynamic UI themes and uploading custom wallpapers to the massive 2.4-inch display, However I found that this will only work when selecting Theme 1.

This allows users to transform the screen from a functional interface into a canvas for personal expression. Furthermore, the Bluetooth functionality supports detailed performance tracking, logging daily puffs and usage duration, and facilitates convenient wireless firmware updates through the app.

Performance

The device tested exceptionally well. The new Quest X 3.0 Chipset proves its pedigree, delivering a near-instant fire speed and remarkably stable, consistent power output right up to the maximum wattage.

However, The Bluetooth capabilities are a Double-Edged Sword! The smart functionality introduces a few growing pains. While the Bluetooth connectivity and app control are innovative, like many first-generation smart technologies, the experience is not entirely polished. I occasionally found that the device would freeze up when actively interacting with the companion app, leaving no option but to perform a hard reset to restore full function and reconnect.

While the ability to upload custom wallpapers is a cool aesthetic feature, it is currently not a groundbreaking addition that justifies the occasional software hiccup. Lost Vape will need to address these connectivity stability issues through firmware updates to ensure the BT200 lives up to its promise as a truly reliable smart mod.

Verdict

The Lost Vape Centaurus BT200 successfully delivers on its promise of being a high-end, premium box mod, but its groundbreaking smart features are still rough around the edges.

As a core 200W dual-18650 device, the BT200 performs well. Its Quest X 3.0 Chipset provides flawless, instant firing during my testing. The design gives classic vibes, the brushed aluminium alloy frame, comfortable ergonomics, secure magnetic battery door, and the large, crystal-clear 2.4-inch display all scream quality. The inclusion of the physical on/off switch and the in the firmly seated battery door are welcome practical touches.

However, the Bluetooth connectivity—the device’s main selling point—is currently a source of frustration. The occasional freezing requiring a hard reset mars an otherwise perfect user experience.
