Hoho, DingDong, TimTam Aussie Vs US Treats

Lol. Well, that is $20+ for 4 16oz cans, which is a bit higher than what we pay for regular old maple syrup, but not a bad price. I just don’t know if I need 4 cans of it.

To give you an idea, you would use about 2 tablespoons per batch of about 24. Not 100% on the conversion but about 2 ounces???
I think american and aussie tablespoon measurements are different too.

I rarely use measuring devices anyway lol.

I only measure when baking, precision in baking means consistency and next level, just like mixing. I’m a picky bugger 99% is not good enough

Can you get treacle in the shops? That’s meant to be the same, never used it myself.

How much is 1 lb?

And that’s not with your exchange rate on top, so about $4 in your money. :wtf:

My aunt used to bake a lot of breads, and made the best breads I have ever tasted. Cinnamon rolls to die for. She used to always tell me when I asked her to teach me… “just watch. I can’t teach you because because I do it by eye”. Even when using yeast and baking soda and such, she just pinched some with her fingers and tossed it in.

Mum says the same, she laughs at me now I have digital scales for baking cakes and I measure down to 0.1g, we can partly thank mixing and DIY for this craziness.

If I am following a recipe off a site, like this one…

I follow the recipe the first time, measuring everything. But after that, it’s modification time. I made those once as advised, and have since added garlic butter at times, added brown sugar and wild blueberries. Added a center pocket of butter, cinnamon, sugar, and pecans, then topped with buttercream frosting.

So these are those savory biscuits I hear about. “Biscuits and gravy”?
Not like what we would call scones and eat with jam and cream. Kiwis have butter, jam and cream
But mum did used to make these cheese scones to die for.

Yup, those are what we call biscuits over here. So yeah, your scones sound like these. Butter and jam or jelly them and enjoy. Or toss a breaded chicken breast and some honey mustard in a biscuit and ya find heaven.

Pretty cool to think I was there at one time huh? Did you remember to kiss the ground where I walked?

Seriously though, it is awe inspiring when you get out over the gorge. My uncle used to live near there. He said if you look at the cliffs through binoculars, you see cameras and shit people have dropped over the years.

Did you ride the cable car?

I didn’t see a cable car. But I did suspect there to be a Best Buy store’s worth of cell phones below in the rocks. Oh the fun it would be to retrieve those and view the last video taken

I’d venture a guess the audio would be funny too. How many would be heard last saying…

Son of a bitch!
Hurensohn!
王八蛋!
anak ng isang asong babae!
jävel!
Сукин сын!
Fils de pute!
Filho da puta!

Lol. I didn’t see the swing video yet. That wasn’t there when I was. But I rode one at King’s Island, and it was farking cool as hell. Pulling the trigger to drop yourself was insane. Then, you basically freefall for 50’ before the swing catches you. The whole way down I was thinking I was gonna die lol.

Oh, you have to do the swing. It was the most amazing, scary thing I have ever done. We were on a double swing, and there was a group on the swing to my right going up ahead of us. When we were getting winched up it seemed to take a day. We finally stopped, just before I felt like shitting myself in fear

But to my surprize, they only stopped me halfway up to keep me out of the way of the other group. When I turned to look at them just before they released in a screaming fit of absolute terror, I peed a little.

They then pulled me up, and it was unbelievably high. I am not scared of heights, but that scared the shit out of me. I pulled the rip cord, and I shit you not, the freefall made me feel like I seriously just fucked up. It felt like I just released myself from the cable. But the swing gradually grabs you and when you start to feel forwards movement it is such a high. About 5 trips swinging up and down, they lowered me to the ground. Had it not been $20/ride, I would have rode it all freakin day long.
