Having just seen the news on the upcoming “going off line” of the Vaping Community, please let me be among the first to express my profound disappointment. I have received more help and support from the folks here than I can count, and it has been so appreciated - words truly cannot express. Allow me to express Thanks (first and foremost) to @OldGoat / Grubby for his efforts creating, curating, and most recently, overhauling the site. I hope we hear a bit as to the reasoning behind this decision.

To all those listed and the many I’ve not, Thank You. You have helped make the Vaping Community my preferred place to confer and converse on the subjects of concern to us all. I can only hope that either I’ve misunderstood, the decision is changed, or VC comes back in another form or location. Again, my sincerest Thanks to all who made this a welcome place to come.
Thank you for the kind words, but I think there’s been a little mix-up here—I’m just a regular guy on this platform, not involved in creating or maintaining the site. The real hero here is Grubby, and he deserves all the credit for building and running this amazing space.
Like you, I’m incredibly disappointed to see VC shutting down. This community has been a second home for me—filled with knowledgeable, helpful, and downright awesome people. The sense of camaraderie here has been unmatched, and it’s been inspiring to see how everyone has come together to share, learn, and grow.
Grubby, thank you for everything you’ve done to make this community what it is. I can only imagine the work that went into building something this special, and it’s been a privilege to be part of it.
To all the members, from seasoned mixers to the curious newcomers, thank you for being part of this journey. The laughs, advice, and discussions have meant more than I can say. While this chapter may be closing, I hope we can all find ways to stay connected and keep the spirit of this community alive.
I know the news about the forum going down hit us hard, but I don’t want us to lose sight of something epic we’ve been working on: The Ultimate Custard. This project is pure fire, and it’s not done yet. We’ve come way too far to just let it fizzle out now.
Think about it: this could be the legacy of the Vaping Community—the last great thing we all create together. How badass would that be?
So here’s the deal. If you’re still on board, let’s figure out how to keep it going. DM me, email me, send a carrier pigeon—I don’t care. We’ll find a way to keep the dream alive.

@SessionDrummer I mixed up a batch of what I thought would make for a badass custard, but it didn’t really follow what we discussed in the thread. I think it is a great place to start form, considering we don’t have much time.
OG, sorry for the mixup and my incorrect assumption. I had searched for Grubby to address him in the post, and I think I’ve found that he’s changed his handle. I thought it was to you, but from previous mail I exchanged with Grubby, those addresses have been changed to @Grubby ? Please correct me if I’m wrong.

I could not agree more. What really set me back is the effort Grubby just went through to overhaul the site. Obviously a huge effort.
Unfortunately, one of the reasons I’m so impacted by this decision is that my wife and I have always had a firm policy of not joining social media. A personal decision of course, but it doesn’t take a genius to know of the negative impact social media has had, so we are still comfortable with this decision. Unfortunately, that means we can’t have contact through those toolsets.
Folks, I can’t say enough how much I’ve enjoyed this community. The recipes and data are valuable, to be sure, but it was the sense of polite and compassionate COMMUNITY that made the site a great place to come. If I lose contact with you, please don’t take it personally - I will sincerely and deeply miss you all, and I still hope the decision is reversed.
Please forgive my lack of knowledge, but I’ve just learned that @Steampugs and @woftam may have also played a key role in establishing VC. Please forgive me - didn’t mean to leave you out but Thank You for all your efforts. To all the others I’ve not mentioned, deepest Thanks.

Sorry I haven’t been as active here on the VC as I once was, but definitely appreciate all that Grubby @Grubby, @Steampugs, and @woftam has done.
We’re still working on the how’s amd why’s fellas, The ball is firmly in Grubbys court on this one, Yes myself and Woftam were instrumental in bringing this place into being but make no mistake its been all Grubby…there’s a reason we used to call him Neo, the mans a machine.
My choice would be a subscription model, its the only way in my eyes to make financially viable, but again…its all down to the main man.
Will keep you all updated with news if and when we get any… its all gone a bit dark at the moment sadly.
What would be cool if you can do the subscription model, or set up a kickstarter type thing for donations to make a smartphone application that will be a free/subscription based model where backers get badge and free month to month along with all the regular features. Get Ai to create the app
Thanks for the update, @Steampugs. It’s a tough pill to swallow, but I completely understand the challenges involved. Massive kudos to Grubby for everything he’s done to create and maintain this incredible space—it’s been nothing short of legendary.
For me, the most vital thing to try and save is the calculator. It’s the heart of this community and a tool that so many of us rely on every single day. I’d happily pay for access to it, whether as part of a subscription model or even as a standalone app for phones.
An app version could be a game-changer—keeping the calculator alive and making it even more accessible for mixers on the go. I’ve dabbled in creating games for Android, so I’ve got a bit of experience with app development. I’d be happy to give it a shot and try to put something together. I’d just need some help getting the data and functionality mapped out to make it work seamlessly.
Whatever the outcome, I just want to thank you, @Woftam, Grubby (aka @Grubby , and everyone involved for everything you’ve done. This community has been a huge part of my journey, and I’d love to see at least part of it live on. Fingers crossed!
