Design

This is a solidly built mod where everything feels very premium. The leather section feels thick and comfortable in the hand. It features a large, bright 0.96-inch colour screen, and the rocker style fire button and flush fit adjustment buttons have a smooth tactile click to them. The USB-C port is above the fire button, hidden under a rubber plug with a metal Geekvape emblem in the middle. On top, you have a textured metal platform housing a spring-loaded 510 connection.

The metal frame on the device is a glossy finish. The device takes two 18650 batteries, and they fit nicely and snugly in the battery compartment with no rattle at all. On the bottom, the hinged battery door is spring-loaded with an opening directional arrow. Battery orientation is clearly marked on the door and at the bottom of the battery housing.

Features

Button operations are as follows:

  • Five clicks of the fire button to turn on and off
  • Three clicks to enter the menu
  • In the menu, you have modes, lock settings, puff counter reset, colour, and brightness
  • Use up and down to navigate the menus, and fire to accept.

Aegis Legend 2 with very minimal changes overall. The screen colour options are black and white, blue, purple, orange, and pink. The screen displays battery level for both batteries, mode, lock symbol, Ohms, Volts and puff counter and vape time in seconds when the fire button is pressed. It can fire at up to 200W in one Watt increments and yes, it round Robbins! It comes with POWER, TCR, ECO, SMART, BOOSTING, and MEMORY modes. With boosting being the new word for BYPASS, I assume it is indicated by a spinning icon with flames shooting out from wither side when you press the fire button. While It’s not recommend using your mod to charge your batteries, the Legend 3 features 3A Type-C charging if you’re stuck without a charger.

The one main new feature is the lock setting, which has auto lock (Smart Lock) set by default. You can set it to button lock, or deactivate locking. It appears the Smart Lock sensor is actually under the leather. Even just tapping the back of the leather will unlock it. This feature worked flawlessly during testing. Once you place the mod down or put it in your pocket, it locks. It’s a really cool feature, and it works without having to press any buttons or flip a locking switch, very handy indeed to prevent and accidental pocket activations.

Performance

I am old school and I mostly use my mods in wattage mode. I paired the Legend 3 with the Dead rabbit 3 RTA, and it worked seemly during testing. No issues to report as the ASR chip seem to have been very efficient in regard to battery life.

Final Thoughts

The Aegis Legend 3 certainly lives up to the expectations of what a great vape mod should offer. Slim dual battery device delivering 200 Watts of power. The touch lock/unlock mode is also incredibly convenient and works flawlessly. The mod feels rugged and tough in the hand and has great build quality sleek tactical design and the leather backing and glossy finish on the frame gives this device a premium look.

I would like to thank Sourcemore for sending the Geekvape Aegis legend 3 over for review, and I hope you enjoyed reading my thoughts on this one.

They have very kindly provided me with the Code: AL3M to share if you decide to purchase this device from them.

I’ve been teetering back and forth adding these to my carts, but never pulled the lever. Now, I think I’m going to have to.

Nicely done @Daredevil.

Very nice review @Daredevil, thank you. I have quite a few of the original Aegis Legends and the Classics (dual 21700) which I am using almost exclusively now whilst my other mods are sat gathering dust on the shelf. I find them very reliable and so far they have never given me any trouble. I do like the rubber chassis which is not a feature on the V3 but it does look like a good solid mod all the same.
