Good Morning All,
I just received a new Dovpo Odin V2 DNA250C mod, and I’ve noticed a possible problem - fully charged 21700 batteries that show as fully charged in other DNA100C devices I use, will not show as fully charged in the Odin V2. The best the Odin will show is approximately 75%, and I get similar results when I install 18650s, which show even lower - approximately 65% for those fully charged units.
Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a problem with this Odin where I should return it? Thanks in advance for any help on this.
I would say, definitely, Kirk! If it were me, I’d probably try plugging into the onboard charger, and see what happens before reaching out for a return. Were both the 21700’s and 18650’s matched pairs?
Huh - interesting. The onboard charger came on briefly and then turned off with the freshly charged 21700s showing 70%.
The 18650s are matched and I actually mark my pairs with a paint marker. The 21700s are used in a single battery Lost Vape Thelema DNA100C, so they have never been run together as a pair. They are the same model of Holm Run batteries. However, all these Holm Tech batteries just came off the matching Holm Tech charger I use, and showed as fully charged in my Lost Vape Thelema DNA100C and Centaurus DNA250C. I’ve been researching the internet and found no references to this issue yet.
Well, I can’t seem to get a response from ECigOne anymore. They asked for video and data on the problem, but due to email attachment size limits, I can’t send a video, so I sent pictures. No response after a followup, so I’ll try again this week.
I had tried a Google search, but thanks for the reminder on the Evolve forums. I’m looking right now, and I see some history of battery problems, and frequently with the DNA250C. I ran a backup of the Odin V2 right out of the box, and then applied the most recent service pack that Escribe displayed. I restored the original software, charged the batteries again, and the Odin V2 only registers 68%. One thing I noticed is that in Escribe, the battery is set to 18650s, and there’s no drop down to change to 21700s? Is this normal? I’m going to start a thread in the Evolve forums also – thanks for the reminder @Wayneo.
I also bought an Odin v2 DNA 250c and i regret it because I’m having problems and issues with it. The first unit had a burnt pixel on the screen and the store been nice and replaced it, the second unit had flimpsy fire button that felt like it will break with prolonged use and it was making a metal spring noise when clicking it, also both units screen brightness does not increase or change after lvl 6 up to 10, the brightness is absolutely the same and the screen is pretty dim that i can’t use it outside of the house, i just can’t see the screen . The store didn’t replace it this time, but they will tune it with a technician. I had an amazing experience with the first Odin 200 with dovpo chip some years ago and it was solid , thats why i decided to give it a go with the version 2 and the DNA but i just can’t love this mod. I can’t understand why they add this QC card (quality checked) inside the box. I wish i could get my money back and stay away from Dovpo because I feel heavily fooled. These problematic mods SHOULDN’T be released in the market and if they are, Do Not tell us that they been through Quality check. Situations like this makes me wanna go back to smoking seriously. 130€ for a High end device that the fire button sounds like a metal spring and the screens brightness is like a Nintendo Gameboy from 1995.
Please forgive me for being frustrated and for my complaints, but it’s 8 days since i bought the Odin and I’m wasting time and money and my peace for something that it isn’t a mistake from my end.
Final Update. I also noticed that the Odin was consuming battery power excessively - 2-3 puffs would run the battery level down from 70 to 50%, so I truly believe that this device was malfunctioned.
I did hear from Ellie/ECigOne. In all fairness, their delay in response was due to the fact that Ellie was out of the office, and she responded as soon as she had returned. Just so everyone is aware, Dovpo will not support issue resolution without a video, and returning the device to ECigOne was too costly, so Ellie elected to refund me the full cost of the device - my thanks to ECigOne for supporting that solution. Unfortunately, I don’t think I can feel comfortable purchasing a Dovpo device in the future.
