Does Nicotine Degradation aid homogenisation?

I only ask, because I have NIC mixes, that freshly mixed, taste like CRAP, but after 2 weeks or so, are completely different, FAR less harsh, blended (duh), etc.

@Grubby yes is my answer Nic does help with a lot of liquids for ages I have been quoting a scientific paper that I read saying that acetyl propionyl (AP in DAAP) oxidises to Diacetyl Turns out I got it screwed around in my head sometime and it is actually the Acetoin that oxidises to Diacetyl. The paper has a slightly alarmist tone re the dangers of DAAP it is an interesting read albeit a little dry.

  • Acetoin, acetyl propionyl and diacetyl are reactive in e-liquids
  • Acetoin reacts to form diacetyl; formation is accelerated by nicotine.
  • Acetoin continues to form diacetyl over the normal shelf-life of e-liquids.
