Thank you VERY much for this share @woftam, I’m embarrassed I missed that. Going to deep dive on this one.

On September 15, Secretary Alex Azar of the U.S. Department of Health and Humans Services (HHS issued a memorandum barring the 27 agencies under his control from implementing new rules within his expressed signature. In most administrations, the task of signing these legislative actions typically falls to the chief officer of the related department or perhaps an appointed officer in the highest points of the agency’s management hierarchy.

This new announcement means that the current chief of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, Ned Sharpless, no longer has the authority to randomly implement new or harsher anti-vaping regulations without Secretary Azar’s written consent. For vaping advocates and their attorneys, this change of protocol may be opening a new legal loophole with which to fight the constitutionality of the FDFA deeming regulations of 2016.

Strange Days - I never thought I would agree 100% with Alan Jones but in this case I do.

Simon, You can be quite certain that your ‘leaders’ know of the benefits of vaping over smoking! When nothing seems to make sense…follow the money. I don’t know how your government works down under, but, here in the US the lobbyists dictate the outcome of policy making legislation by waving large wads of cash at our corrupt politicians. In this case, the tobacco companies.

Our government is more addicted to the $17 bill in taxes on cigarettes and the money from big pharma into their campaign fund than any smoker was addicted to tobacco. The sad thing is they don’t even care who knows

I see a huge opportunity for government’s everywhere to make their people healthier and still pad their wallets…but with vape company dollars rather than tobacco.Hell, there’s probably more ways to tax vaping too! VG,PG, Nic, finished liquids, etc. I suppose Pharma wouldn’t like that much though…can’t have a healthy population and sell all those expensive drugs at the same time!

Attention All Aussie Vapers!

This could quite possibly be the most important call to action in the history of Australian Vaping.

The Senate Select Committee on Tobacco Harm Reduction is now active and due to report by 1 December 2020. They are currently accepting submissions from consumers regarding their thoughts regarding the future of nicotine bearing e-liquid and vaping in Australia.

You can be certain that the forces against us will undoubtedly submit their version which is why it is vital that we make sure ours is as well.

Athra have provided guidelines for submissions here:

This has the potential to change everything. Stand up and be counted. Let your voice be heard!

Well done Simon! We only hope that our words will strike a chord with those that have been elected to represent us. Where I live, it is a fruitless endeavor to try and change politicians minds, but I continue to write them on a variety of topics, nonetheless.

This boils my piss here is a link to a submission to the Australian Senate from Prof. Emily Banks. This report was commissioned by the Australian Health Minister Greg Hunt and cost the Australian Tax payer 750k call it 5 pages (generous) because of the pretty pictures and reference material attributions so about 150k per page of absolute garbage this Prof should be charged with fraud.

Wow! This makes me so fkn angry! I haven’t the energy to pick this apart piece by piece but I’ve read many scientific articles in my years and this is so poorly written it is laughable.

I also find it interesting that it was revised after a “Review by Goverment Relations” (v1.1), which, as far as I’m aware, is not part of the scientific process!

Definitely agree that this is absolute rubbish!
