Cracking the Code on Marie Biscuit Flavor

I’ve been toying with an idea for a recipe, but there’s one big hurdle—Marie Biscuit. There are loads of biscuit flavors out there, but I haven’t come across one that really nails that classic Marie taste.

Before I start throwing everything at the wall to see what sticks, I wanted to ask: How would you approach a Marie Biscuit flavor? Any specific concentrates, combinations, or tricks you think might work?

Overview

Marie biscuits, also known as Maria cookies or galletas María in Spanish, are thin, crispy, and slightly sweet wheat flour cookies that originated in London, England. They are round with decorative edges and small holes, and are often stamped with “Marie” or the brand name. The British bakery Peek Frean created the biscuit in 1874 to celebrate the marriage of Alfred, Duke of Edinburgh, to Marie, daughter of the Russian Emperor.

That’s the one.
Now how do I make a juice that tastes like it?
I’m thinking INW Biscuit and some butter to start with.

I’ve never eaten a Marie Biscuit myself, but you got me curious…

I get a coconut note from the INA Biscuit myself, add some butter and to me it would be a
Danish butter cookie

This is what I would start with:
1.00% Biscuit (INAWERA)
0.75% Butter Base (VTA)
2.00% Shortbread Cookie (SSA)

Although I don’t know how buttery the actual cookies are…

They are rather dry. The best way to discribe the flavour is ‘Mhe’ It is the most basic biscuit flavour there is. Sweet but not sweet and buttery but not too buttery. It has a slight hint of vanilla. It’s almost like a less sweet, drier version of a shortbread cookie with a hint of milkiness in the aftertaste.

So this is spot on in terms of flavours, now just to dial in the amounts.

OK, after a little R&D (and never having the actual cookies), I’m going to mix up this tester:

Marie Cookie (2):

0.50% Biscuit (INAWERA)
0.25% Butter Base (VTA)
0.25% Milk and Honey (Flavorah)
1.50% Shortbread Cookie (SSA)
0.50% Sweetness (Flavorah)
1.00% Vanilla Cookie (FA)

Flavor total: 4%

Edit: pretty good off the shake taste wise, the cookie / vanilla / sweetness is perfect. The butter may be a bit high for this profile per @OldGoat’s description, could just drop the Butter Base as FA Vanilla cookie does bring some butter with it… never gonna get the “crunch” in vape form IMO

@Rocky02852 You are a legend. I was simply looking for advice, not a whole R&D flavour quest.

But here we are and this recipe looks like it is going in the right direction. Thank you so much. I am going to steal this recipe from you and develop it further.

I think the addition of Milk and Honey will help bring out that milky after taste, while adding a bit of sweetness. I might even leave out the Sweetness (FLV) completely.
