Be of good cheer. The owl is an asshole. But more than that, we, the observant viewer, should not rush to judgment here. Who said all owls are old and wise? Clearly this one can’t be assumed to be either old or wise. He’s wearing a graduation cap, but not officially graduated.
Tassels are worn on the right side of the cap before the ceremony and are then moved from the right side to the left after receiving a diploma or when directed to do so by the graduation speaker.
