Coil building using nichrome 28 awg and 26 awg

Hello fellow vapers. I wanna ask you guys.

I’m planning to build clapton coil using 2 28awg nichrome wires and wrap it with 26awg nich wire. Do you guys think it is good? Or maybe if you guys have tried it, how does it taste?
Since it is the first time i try to build my own coil, I really need your help and advice.

Thank you so much!

The 28awg for the cores are very normal. The outer wrap is usually 8-10+ gauge higher, like 36 or higher gauge.

@Wayneo is 100% correct the wrapping or binding wire should be much thinner than the cores! The common gauge to use with 28ga cores is 38 or 40ga! 26ga I find perfect for single wire MTL coils but if you only want to make Clapton’s this wire will also need to be used as cores and bound with 36 or 38ga!

Wouldn’t you normally use 3-26/ 36g or 38g cuz the 36 or 38 is your outside fine wrap that holds the cores together when not using ribbon wire. You can use 26 with limited cores cuz it might ohm too low with such a large gauge outer wrap (maybe try 2 cores first)
