Design
The top cap is divided into two parts that are easily separated. Each of the two top sections has a different domed chimney diameter, 3 mm & 4.5 mm, that matches the diameter of the drip tips. On the side of the top cap you have removable side airflow pins and below this you have 2 bottom AFC holes measuring 1.3 mm & 2.0 mm in diameter.
There is an air intake hole bored out of the side of the deck, So that when the AFC centre pin is installed, It enables bottom air flow to the coil.
On the bottom you have a protruding 510 pin and branding.
The Era RDA V2 comes in 2 colors, Black and Stainless steel.
Build deck
In the pictures below, you can see the different 510 pins installed. The deck consist of a 4 post design. With Philips head screws and ledges on the posts to traps your coils legs. There is a gap between the deck and side wall to allow for liquid to run off if you over squonk or over drip your e liquid. On either side of the deck, you have raised legs you can rest your coil rod when building. The deck is very well machined and spotless clean.
The O ring tolerances are spot on with a satisfying snap when refitting the top cap in place.
DTL Build
I installed a 2.5 mm tri-core fused clapton, Very easy to place and lock the coil in place. You can leave plenty of cotton on either side and tuck it down into the deep juice well.
Performance
The coil came out to 0.3 Ohms Max airflow setting with the 2 mm bottom air flow 510 pin installed. The cap set to the 2 mm hole size and both 1.2 mm Airflow side air pins installed and the DTL dome piece and DTL drip tip. I ran this configuration at 40 Watts. Very good flavor and a nice restricted, smooth direct lung draw.
Squonking
I fitted the squonk pin, which eliminates the bottom air flow option. No loss in flavor, just a slightly tighter draw. This RDA squonks very well with no issues.
MTL Build
For this build I used a 2.5 mm MTL Fused clapton which came out at 0.7Ohms.
Performance
With the bottom air flow pin and the 2 x 0.8 mm side Airflow Pins installed, testing at 20 Watts, the draw was a bit loose. I removed the bottom air flow option and boom, there it is. A very satisfying tight draw and the flavor was on point. No whistles and the airflow was super smooth.
Final thoughts
Auguse seems to have created a very versatile package in this V2 variant. Utilising every millimetre of space and with options for dual AFC to fine tune the vaping experience to your liking. The build quality is flawless, A deck big enough to accommodate multiple coil variants. This is a great addition to the ERA series line.
I would like to thank Auguse for sending the ERA RDA V2 for review and I hope you enjoyed reading my thoughts on this one.
