Aspire Pixo Neo Review

Introduction

Aspire returns with a fresh update to their popular Pixo line up — introducing the Pixo Neo. This new iteration brings a series of subtle yet impactful upgrades, including a slightly larger battery capacity and refined design tweaks aimed at enhancing daily usability.

While the original Pixo carved out a space for itself as a compact, reliable pod system, the Neo version seeks to build on that success with improved performance and modernized features.

So, what’s new? What’s improved? And does the Neo version live up to the Pixo name?

Let’s have a closer look.

Design

The Aspire Neo borrows several design cues from its sibling, the original Pixo, particularly in its shape and compact form factor.

However, it introduces some notable changes—most prominently, the touchscreen has been replaced with a single function button for simplified operation.

The display has been downsized to a 0.85-inch screen, providing essential information without taking up too much space. Around the back, Aspire has opted for a more subtle and textured panel, offering a comfortable and grippy feel in hand.

The adjustable airflow slider makes a welcome return, retaining the smooth and responsive control we saw in the OG Pixo.

One notable upgrade is the battery, which has been increased to 1300mAh—up from the original’s 1000mAh—offering improved longevity throughout the day. For added convenience, the USB-C charging port is located on the bottom of the device and supports 2A fast charging for quicker top-ups.

The function button serves multiple purposes—press it five times to power the device on or off, and four times to activate stealth mode. In stealth mode, the screen turns off except for a glowing battery indicator bar along the bottom, which pulses while charging or when taking a draw. The LED bar also communicates battery status with three colour indicators: Red for 0–30%, Blue for 30–60%, and Green for 60–100%, offering a clear and intuitive way to monitor battery life at a glance.

All of these settings are simple to adjust, with a responsive interface that makes navigation smooth. A helpful on-screen cursor at the edge indicates your current position within the menu, while a long press on the function button confirms your selection. The 0.85-inch screen is bright, and while the text is small, it remains just about legible—even for my ageing eyes.

Powering all these features is Aspire’s latest ASP 5.0 chipset, which not only delivers reliable performance but also includes a comprehensive suite of safety protections—ensuring a secure and dependable vaping experience every time.

PODS

The Pixo Neo kit comes with two pods, 0.4 Ω & 0.6 Ω

The tank is filled by lifting the orange silicone cap. The generously sized hole fits most commercially available e-liquid bottles.

The large transparent surface of the cartridge allows for easy monitoring of the internal e-liquid level.

The pods and device are equipped with strong magnets that ensure a secure fit, snapping reassuringly into place when inserted.

Additional Pods:

Aspire offers two additional pods compatible with the Neo kit:

  • 1.2Ω pod – Optimised for MTL vaping, delivering a tighter, smoother draw.
  • 1.0Ω pod – Also designed for MTL use, offering slightly warmer vapour and a more pronounced throat hit.

Both pods are ideal for vapers who prefer a classic MTL experience and work well with higher nicotine or nicotine salt e-liquids.

Performance

I recently took the Neo with me on a short trip abroad, and it proved to be a reliable travel companion. Having the option to swap between two different pods was a real convenience, allowing me to alternate between e-liquid flavours and nicotine strengths to suit my needs throughout the day. Battery life was impressive, easily lasting through extended use, and a full charge took just 50 minutes. The sleek, slim design made it extremely pocket-friendly. I experienced no leaking during testing, and both pods delivered great performance—a warm, flavourful DTL vape from the 0.4 Ω pod, and a satisfying MTL experience with good throat hit and vapour production when using the 0.6 Ω pod with the AFC dialled down.

Verdict

For me, the increased battery capacity, smaller screen, and removal of the vibration feature—along with the addition of stealth mode—have all contributed to noticeably improved battery life on the Neo. And when it comes down to it, battery longevity and flavourful, reliable pods are what really matter. In that regard, the Neo delivers. It ticks all the right boxes: a simple, user-friendly interface, great pocketability, and a sleek, attractive design. A very credible and well-rounded device from Aspire.

I would like to thank Aspire for sending the Pixo Neo Pod Kit over for review, and I hope you enjoyed reading my thoughts on this one.
