Started smoking when I was 14. 67 years ago. Smoking Swisher Sweets by the handful a day, now. All about the throat hit. One of my kids turned me on to vaping.
Not enough throat hit, so I asked google, and she said, “Make your own, dumb ass!”
Found ELR, tried their calculator and got REAL confused! Asked a couple questions and some feller what goes my the handle @SessionDrummer grabbed me by the ear, took me out to the wood shed and beat it into me.

Hehe, you’re very welcome @PaulyWalnuts, and it just goes to show you, that sometimes, a running public thread, with a LOT of people really wanting to help out, can get confusing. Sometimes when you cut out all the chatter, and go 1 on 1, it’s a lot quieter, and you can get things done.

Hey everyone,
I’ve tried quite a few things over the years to quit smoking — patches, gum, apps, you name it. Some helped a bit, others not at all. Vaping has been the closest thing to actually working for me, but even there, finding the right product has been a trial-and-error journey.
Recently, my uncle (who successfully quit over a year ago) recommended a resource he and my aunt have been using for a while. I wasn’t expecting much, but I checked it out and… it honestly surprised me.
Not just the quality of the products, but how many options there are — different strengths, flavors, types — and prices are actually decent compared to most stores I’ve seen.

'Bout a decade ago, before I was a classier antique, I was getting into wooden model ship building. Came across a site called modelshipworld.com. My very first question: Just getting started, would anyone make a suggestion for a model for a beginner?

I’m actually still smoking. Have been for some 67 years. ‘bout a year ago, my kid turned me onto vaping. Said you can ween yourself off the nic. Gave me a hit from his mod. Some nasty-ass fruit shit. Went to the local smoke shop, (No vape shops in this small town) and I got some brown sugar flavor. THAT’S what I’m talkin’ 'bout!
Retired 16 years ago, my parents and their parents made it to their mid 90’s, my oldest sister is 92 and still going strong. Point being, gotta watch those pennies so I tried DIY. Found ELR but I couldn’t understand their calculator. I wanted to try 9 mg nic. I smoke 8 to 10 swisher sweets a day. LOTTA nic.
Their calc always said my PG/VG ratio is off. Being a sudo-wannabe-intelectual-has-been, I decided I could leave the nic out. Let it sit for 2 weeks and gave it a try. I made a couple sweet flavors. They’re GREAT! 3 days, I made it! Good thing I had some cigars left.
This past February, I was like, what the hell am I doing? I have a gallon of 70/30 VG/PG, a scale that understands hundredths of a gram, bottles, 20 some-odd flavors… Everything a DIY’r would need. Googled e-juice calculators, found MANY that were worse than ELR’s.
Came across this site, didn’t understand the calc, began reading topics and this seemed like a “community”. NO disrespect. So I dared venture my question about the calc, and ratios…etc. Got a LOT of replies. Which caused even more questions. Then @SessionDrummer went one on one and straightened me out.
Made a couple 10 ml bottles at 3 mg. Coughed up both lungs! Asked my next dumb question. Someone said, try salt nic, not freebase. So, I have 4 days left to steep to try again.
4 30 ml bottles. 1 @ 3, 6, 9 and 12 mg nic. I’ll try 3, if I live, I’ll climb until I get to 12. I suspect, I’ll need at least 12 mg to get off these cigars. I have 3 pods, with 4 spare “tanks?” so I can test things. All 3 are different ohms, wattage… etc.
Now, you may have guessed, I’m a bored old fart with too much time on my hands, so I produce some LONG. often irrelevant (and irreverent) posts.
What you may not have guessed, is that I hate typing.
At first, I thought you were telling us what school you graduated from! 
I used to live up in Weed, California, where everyone graduates from Weed High.
