I’m looking to add profiles to recipes but need your help.
So far on our list we have:
What else should we have?
Bases(aka stones)
Savory (in case Bob_Bitchen ever shows up lol… Although I will say that @Rocky02852 has slight overtones in leaning that way! 
)
Beverages (referring to non-alcoholic. EG coffee, tea, fruit punches, lemonade, etc)
Stones will be handled differently, we used to have stones, you could create stones in the create page until they broke things, they work in a similar way to User Defined flavours, for example you could create:
My Stone - Stone
These could then be used in recipes as a flavour
These will be back, they are on the list

Is the aim to only have main categories? Would a further break down into subcategories be viable/advantageous?
Just general categories for now I think, we can revisit sub categories at a later date

You left out one of the hardest to get right (IMO) Chocolate 
Biscuit/cookie, just that I notice cake was separated from bakery
I fully back the savory idea up.
Candy will be full of fruity candy. So for my specialty I think Candy Bars would be useful. I bet we could fill up that category with chocolatey, gooey, crunchy confections.
Edit: I see chocolates at the bottom. Not sure a candy bar falls into that one. I love me some Payday bars!
