Okay, I’ve read/re-read the instruction’s…what exactly am I trying to solve, here?! I’ve found 6 words so far.

You have to use up all the letters in 5 words or less.
You have an H, a U, a P and an L left over.
They have to cross, and you have to start the next word with the last letter of the previous word. You figured that out already.
