It’s a tragic situation all around. Mech mods are not beginner devices they require solid knowledge of battery safety, Ohm’s law, and proper builds. Without that, they can absolutely be dangerous.
At the same time, responsibility is shared. Shops should never recommend a mechanical mod to someone new without very clear safety guidance, and users also need to understand what they’re using before firing it. Incidents like this hurt everyone and reinforce negative perceptions.
Education and battery safety awareness are critical. No device is worth someone’s life.
